"Daddy!" Nate jumped into his father's arms with the biggest smile on his face. Ben caught him and lifted him up, holding him tightly against his chest. "Oh, my boy," he sighed in relief. "Your sister is going to be alright." Nate smiled and asked, "Really?" Ben nodded. "Really. She's sleeping now, but did you want to come back with me to the hospital?"

Nate eagerly nodded his head. Ben smiled, then told him, "Alright, I just need to pack a few things for mummy and I, then we'll go." He set Nate down, then walked into the living room, where his parents were standing, waiting for him. Ben turned to Nate and said, "Why don't you go pack some toys and books for Em?" Nate nodded, then sprinted upstairs.

As soon as he was gone, Ben hugged his parents and slumped into their arms. He started crying his eyes out, while they offered him soothing words of encouragement. "She's alright now, Ben. She's going to be good as new," his mother promised. Tim piped in, saying, "She's healthy now. That's all that matters." Ben nodded and straightened himself back up. Still fighting back the tears, he told them, "I've just never been so bloody scared in my life. I could have lost my little girl today."

"But you didn't," Wanda told him. "She's alive and well. She's coming home with you and [Y/N]." Ben hastily wiped his tears when he heard Nate come running down the stairs. "I'll bring Nate back in a bit," he told them. "Has Conner been alright?" Tim nodded and told him, "He's sleeping at the moment, but he's been the angel he's always been."

On his way to the bedroom, Ben stopped to check on Conner. He kissed his baby boy's rosy cheeks, before going to back a bag for you both. He didn't pack much, just some shirts and jeans. He made sure to grab the chargers for your phones and laptops. His next stop was the bathroom. He got your toothbrushes and anything else you would need.

He put the bags together on the bed, then went back into the bathroom to go pee. He's been holding it in for the past twelve hours. As he was going, something caught his attention in the corner of his eye. He glanced down into the wastebasket...and saw a used pregnancy test.

Ben walked into Emma's hospital room with Nate in one arm, and several bags in the other. As soon as he set Nate down, you were being happily charged at by your eldest boy. You scooped him up and gave him your warm, motherly smile that Ben adored to watch you give your children.

He set down the bags and put them in an unused cupboard at the other end of the room. When he turned back to you, he saw Nate sitting cross-legged next to Emma with tears in his eyes. Ben furrowed his eyebrows and walked up behind Nate. You were covering your mouth, trying not to cry at the scene before you.

"Hey, buddy," Ben cooed. "What's wrong?" Nate sniffled, then asked, "Is she hurting?" Ben was starting to think this wasn't such a good idea. Nate shouldn't be seeing his sister like this. Ben glanced up at you and gave you a small smile of encouragement, before turning back to Nate and saying, "Come on, let's take a walk."

He lifted Nate from the bed and set him down, then gave you a kiss on the cheek. He took Nate's hand and led him out into the hospital halls. They made their way to the elevator, then walked out of the hospital when they got to the ground floor.

"I'm sorry you had to see Em like that," Ben apologized. "But you do understand that she is better now, don't you?" Nate shook his head. Ben found a bench nearby and sat him and Nate down. Ben explained, "The doctor's made her heart better. It's going to take a little while, but she'll finally be able to play with you and run around without getting tired all the time."

Nate's lip started to quiver. "But she's hurting, daddy," he cried. Ben gathered him into his arms and said, "She won't be for long, I promise. The doctors are going to take good care of her." Nate looked up at his father with the saddest eyes. Ben wiped away his son's tears with his thumbs.

"I take care of Em, daddy," Nate promised. Ben smiled blinked back his tears. "I know you will, son. I know you will."

Half an hour later, Ben came back into the hospital room with Nate sleeping in his arms. You looked at Ben from your chair by Emma's bed. He gave you a reassuring smile and put Nate next to Em in the bed. He pulled a chair up next to you and sat down with an exasperated sigh.

"We have some pretty amazing kids," he told you, while looking at Em and Nate. You smiled and said, "I know. They seem to take after their father." Ben chuckled, "Please, they clearly take after you. Everything they are; their personalities, their ginormous hearts...it's all you. Thank God." You both quietly laughed.

"Well, at least they take after your looks." Ben shrugged and teased, "True." That earned him a slap on the arm. It was quiet for a moment, before Ben suddenly asked you, "Why didn't you tell me?" You looked over at him in confusion. He elaborated by saying, "I found a pregnancy test in the bathroom. It was positive." You sighed and looked down at your hands. "Ben...I--."

"Don't tell me it was because of all this. Please. I would have taken the news all the same. Honey, I want more children with you and you shouldn't be afraid to tell me if you're carrying another one of our beautiful children or not."

You were still looking down at your hands as you told him, "But I'm not." He became very confused. You looked up to him and said, "That was one. I took three more and they were negative. I'm not pregnant, Ben." He couldn't hide the disappointment in his face.

"Oh," he breathed out. "Well, um...never mind, then." You smiled and took his hand. "That doesn't mean I don't want anymore children with you," you told him. "I would love to have several more of your babies. We can discuss it once everything settles down with Em. Okay?"

Ben smiled and nodded. "Okay. I love you, [Y/N]." You smiled and leaned over, giving him a tender kiss. "I love you, too, Ben." You shared one more kiss, then looked back over to Em and Nate; your two, perfect children out of (hopefully) more to come.
