This was going to be humiliating, but he had no other choice. He didn't want to go to a hotel because the press would pick up on something, but he'd almost rather go through that than what he's about to encounter.

He knocked on the wooden door a few times and waited. A few moments later, his mother opened the door. "Ben!" She excitedly said. "What a pleasant surprise! Where's [Y/N] and the kids?" This is the moment Ben was dreading.

"Actually, mum," he started to explain, "[Y/N] and I had a pretty big fight and I was wondering if I could stay here a while?" Wanda suddenly seemed to noticed his suitcase and a couple other bags by his feet. "Oh my, it must be serious if you've packed so much. Come in and I'll get you some tea."

Ben picked up his bags and walked in. While his mother got the tea, he went up into his old room and set his bags down. He sighed when he saw the kids' toys in a toy chest in the corner. They always stayed in his old room if they were having a sleepover.

His mother called him down for tea and he trudged down the stairs and into the kitchen, where his father was as well. "Ben!" He greeted. "Your mother told me you and the wife had a bit of a row?" Ben sighed as he sat down.

"It wasn't a bit of a row. It was a big row. I really messed up this time." He put his head in his hands and started tearing up. Wanda immediately set down the tea and went over to comfort her son. "Oh, Ben," she cooed as tears started making their way down his cheeks.

Tim sat on the other side of him and patted his son's back. "Son, whatever it is, it will all be alright. You two have been together for almost over five years and this is the biggest fight you've had, am I right? That's a record if you ask me."

Ben let out a laugh, but then started crying again. "Oh god, there's no going back," he sobbed. "I fucked up so bad, mum." Wanda hugged him close and asked, "Well, what happened?" He sniffled and wiped his eyes.

This wasn't something he could just keep from them. He had to tell them and it had to be soon. "The kids started their first day at school a few weeks ago," he explained in a hoarse voice. "Since [Y/N] has been working, I've been picking up the kids and everyday I see their teacher. Their...very attractive teacher."

Wanda gasped, already knowing where this was headed. "Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch...you didn't." He looked up at his awaiting parents and let out a deep sigh. "I...I did. I cheated on my wife."

He suddenly felt a sharp smack to the back of his head and another on his shoulder. "Ow!" He shouted. Wanda scoffed, "Oh, are you hurt? I'm sorry dear, but multiply that pain by a hundred and that is how your wife feels! My God, I did not raise a son who is unfaithful to his family!"

She shot up from her chair and angrily threw the tea into the sink before storming out of the kitchen. Ben watched all of this in shock, then turned to his dad. "Dad," he said, "I...I didn't sleep with this woman, we kissed, but--."

Tim put his hand up to stop his son. "Ben," he sighed, "I am...I don't even know. To be honest, I am shocked, but I'm also...disappointed. It doesn't matter if you kissed her or not, you found this woman attractive and took action on it. I've found plenty of women attractive over the years, but I would have died before cheating on your mother. Now, I suggest you head up to bed and get some sleep. Your mother will be livid in the morning."

Tim then stood up and, without saying goodnight or patting his son on the back, he left to go to bed. Ben sighed deeply and put his head back in his hands. "Could this day get any fucking worse?"

"Divorce him!" Your not-so helpful friend, Cheryl (whom you met on the set of your last movie) shouted. You quickly shushed her and listened to see if the kids woke up. When you didn't hear anything, you turned to her and said, "I can't." She scoffed at you and said, "The hell you can't! He kissed another woman! And your children's teacher at that!"

You shushed her again. "Stop being so loud," you scolded. "I don't need the kids hearing this. They're upset with me as it is." Cheryl looked at you questionably and asked, "Why?" You sighed and leaned back on the couch.

"They adore him," you told her. "If they would save one of us from drowning, it would be Ben." Cheryl tsk'd. "Oh, come on now," she said, "you're their mummy. Their love for you is stronger than their love for him, believe me. Especially if they find out about this."

You shook your head and leaned your head on the back of the couch. This was the worst night of your life. You never imagined this happening to you. Ever. After Ben left, the kids went straight ti bed because they were too upset with you and you went into your room and cried for (what seemed like) hours.

Afterwards, you came out and called Cheryl and she was over in a flash. It was nearly three in the morning, but you didn't care. How could you sleep when your husband is probably thinking of another woman right now?

**

"No!" Ben shot up from his bed, panting and out of breath. He had just had a nightmare about you leaving and taking the kids. This wasn't the first time tonight, as he dreamt of you coming over and presenting him with divorce papers.

You wouldn't divorce him over this...would you? "Christ," he muttered, the more he thought of it. He ran his hand down his face and got up from his bed. He made his way to the bathroom and turned on the lights.

He looked awful. His eyes were bloodshot from crying himself to sleep, his bare chest was covered in sweat, the bags under his eyes was evidence of his lack of sleep tonight. He splashed some water over his face and moved it over his neck in hopes it would cool him down.

After a moment, he took a deep breath and went back into the bedroom. He didn't know how he was going to fix this, but he had to do it before you make any rash decisions.
