Will You Love Me?

Chapter 44

Thursday 

"Come on, monkeys, we're going to be late!" Ben anxiously called, as he looked at his watch. He packed the suitcases into the car, had the plane tickets in his backpack, along with the park tickets for tomorrow and Saturday, and their conformation form for the Disneyland Hotel. 

He sighed and impatiently tapped his foot. "[Y/N], we have to go!" When he didn't hear you respond, he grunted and ran upstairs two steps at a time. "Darling, we're going to miss our flight if we don't leave now," he said as he walked into the bedroom to see you packing last minute things. 

"I know, I know, I'm done," you said, as you zipped up your bag. Ben took it from you and said, "I'll get this, you get the kids." You nodded and followed him out of the bedroom. "Let's go kids," he called, as he walked down the stairs. 

You went into Emma's room and found her playing with her dolls. "Come on, sweetie, we need to get on our way to Disneyland!" Emma smiled and picked up her favorite doll. As she was walking out of the room, she gasped and said, "Lamb!" 

She ran back into her room and picked up her lamb. It was getting so worn and dirty these days, you were afraid it would have to go soon. You would hate to do that, but you can't count how many times you've sewed up a tear or put back on the lamb's eye. 

You went into Nate's room, gathered him and his toys, and then got Conner. Ben came back in and took Conner from you, while taking some of Nate and Em's toys. "Guys," he sighed, "you have plenty of toys in the car. Put some back and let's go." 

The kids angrily stomped back into their room and you shook your head at Ben. "With the amount of toys they're already bringing, we'd need two planes," he defended. The kids came back down and Nate only had his one action figure and Emma had her lamb. 

"That's a lot better," Ben said, before bending down and kissing their heads. "Now, are you two ready for Disneyland?" Their smiles perked up and they both eagerly nodded. "Get in the car, kiddos." They ran outside and got themselves into their carseats. 

As soon as you stepped out the door, Ben locked the door with one hand and balanced Conner in the other. Once he did that, took your hand and led you to the car. "Feeling alright, my love?" He asked as he opened the car door. 

You smiled and said, "I am more than alright. I just can't wait to get this started." He gave you a chaste kiss, then moved to the backseats, where he strapped in Conner, then buckled up Emma and Nate. 

"Daddy," Emma called, as Ben was making a turn off of your street. "Yes, princess?" He asked while focusing on the road. "When are we going to be at Disneyland?" She sweetly asked. Ben looked at her through the rearview mirror and gave her a warm smile. 

"Soon, sweet pea. First, we have to go on a big plane to California." You took Ben's hand and giggled because you knew this was going to be a series of questions until you got the Heathrow. "Why, daddy?" She asked.

Ben chuckled, "Because California is a long ways away." She didn't wait a beat before saying, "But you said we would be there soon." You started laughing and so did Ben. "The plane will make us get their faster," he promised. She then asked, "What about Watson?" He told her, "Uncle Tom will be watching him. He'll be fine, sweetie."

You then both glanced at each other and started laughing. Oh, you loved your kids.

By the time you got to the airport, it was almost time for your flight to be boarding. You and Ben quickly got the kids out and checked in the bags, then started to hurriedly make your way to the gate. There were security checkpoints and all that fun stuff to get through, but luckily you made it on time.
