Shavonna's Pov 

Im not as excited about New years to be completely honest. Just because it's a new year doesn't mean anything. People swear they change but they dont. Theyre the same people with the same dutty weave in their heads. The same ways of thinking, the same ways of dressing, the same way. People are consumed by materialistic things, and its stupid.

New year new me don't mean shit. In all honesty. I tried, i failed, i cried and i tried again and things still didn't work out. I moved ACROSS the country and everything just follows me. 

I woke up the next day with the illest headache 

I just wanted something new, something real, where i can be myself, where i wont feel uncomfortable talking about my past. Where i wont feel like im being judged but that wont happen. Its Human nature to judge somebody the minute you see them, its all about looks now. The minute you see someone its like something instantly snaps in your head where yous start to think "ew what was she wearing?" "Why does she look and talk like that" 

In all actuality you can never go somewhere and NOT get judged. FAMILY does judge you, your own BLOOD family will judge you, based off the things you do, where, think, the way you do things and why. But one thing i'll always hate is that you cant do anything about it. People will judge you without even knowing you, don't judge my decisions without knowing my reasons. But i guess its human nature right?

Trey's POV 

Its almost new years! New year new me! i sound like one of them hoes though haha, they be like NEW YEAR NEW ME! with the same weave in since school started.

I shook my head 

"Hey ma!"

"Hey Trey...That rhymed" Mom said 

I started to laugh, shes an idiot i swear 

"So how come i haven't heard from Shavonna?" 

"Mom it's a long story..." 

"I got time boy. you know you can tell me anything" 

i told my mom the story on how i almost got shot by the people Shavonna has been chilling with, how i almost got jumped, how i lied and said she almost killed Jordan but i stopped myself before i told her that i like her 

My moms eyes bulged out her head 

"I DID NOT RAISE A LIAR ! NOW YOU GO UP TO THAT CHILDS HOUSE AND APOLOGIZE!" 

"Mom im not doing anything for the b---

i stopped myself 

"Im not doing anything. I dont need to make amends with her. if anything SHE needs to apologize to ME! For almost getting me killed,

"YOU almost got YOURSELF killed. If you didnt lie on the poor girl people would have talked to her, if people would have talked to her she wouldnt have found herself with the wrong people, if she she didnt find herself with the wrong people you wouldnt have had to walk up to her to ask that question. If you didnt walk up her you wouldnt have almost gotten shot and jumped. NOW who do you think should apologize?" 

"I never thought about it like that." 

"HMHM. NOW for new years i want you to go out with shavonna and..."

"WHAT"

"Dont cut me off boy! Like i was saying Her mom called and canceled the plans we all had to go to new york, so we're going to chill at their house for new years"
