There was only a small list of things that lita had hated throughout life.
She hated any sort of spiders, being late for events, slow walkers, avocados, bananas, any type of fish and max.
From the first day lita had met max there was just something about him that ticked her off, especially with how he'd acted cold towards her.
For weeks on end she replayed the meeting in her head to see if she had said anything that might of came out rude or offensive but all she had mustered up in the first conversation before he turned and walked away was 'hi I'm lolita'.
Over the course of time lita began to give up on being nice towards max, she stopped giving him a cheery smile, she stopped waving at him across the paddock or trying to start up small conversations when they were both in for team media associate things and slowly began to have a hatred for him especially with all the snarky little comments he'd mutter under his breath around her.
However jos verstappen was a whole other story.
lita didn't necessarily hate the man but something about interactions with him made her skin prick up and not in a good way,
She knew he was an amazing driver back in the day, with quite a few wins which her own dad use to speak highly off but she had also heard story's about him...
About he treated max when he was younger and that made her blood boil. Most of the time he'd visit the paddock, lita tried to keep out of his way with only greeting him if necessary. Much to her displeasure
But as lita entered the Austrian paddock, she spotted a certain annoying Dutchman that made her mind wonder back to last weeks dinner and she hated how she could still feel his touch on her thigh. However this time his father was standing beside him
The conversation from a distance seemed to be getting a little heated or well jos face starting to go bright red as max stared down at him with his typical blank stare.
The brunettes eyebrows knitted together lightly as she watched from a distance confused
"Lita, there you are" toris cheerful voice pulled her attention away from the two Dutchmen
"Tori, hey" she smiled brightly as she look to the blonde women who was in her usual emeral green pantsuit and white blouse while cradling a iPad and clipboard.
As Tori went over some basis for this weekends race, lita couldn't help but let her eyes drift over to max every once in a while which Tori didn't seem to notice as she rambled on
She felt bad for being noisy and not listening to anything her pr said but she just couldn't help herself. Curiosity never hurt anyone right?
As his father continued his first angry rant of the race weekend, the hairs on the back of Max's neck began to stand up as if someone was looking at him
Holding back an eyeroll for the sake of his sanity, max carefully let his eyes wonder around the garage before they landed on a certain french brunette who was already looking over at him,
He felt a slight twitch at the corner of his lip, even if he was on the complete opposite side of the garage he could still see a small twinge of blush make a home on litas tanned cheeks and nose as she snapped her eyes away and back to Tori
"Are you even listen to me" Jos spat out angrily as he stared up at his son. "Of course your not, what did I even expect? Your useless honestly."
Holding back a groan, max put on his best apologetic look as he looked back down at his father. Across the garage lita forced her eyes to stay on tori and made sure to nod once in a while to seem like she was paying attention
A sense of unease spread across her lower belly as it was her turn to feel eyes on her, licking her lips nervously she looked back to the other side of the garage only to find both pairs of eyes on her
A twinge of nervousness prickled down litas spine as she saw jos narrow his eyes at her before going back to talking to his son clearly even more frustrated.
Lita wasn't too sure why they had been looking at her but she knew it couldn't of been a good reason as Maxs eyes never returned back to his father and instead remained on her,
Even as lita was brought over to Christian who smiled happily at her as if he hadn't forced her to share a room with the one person she couldn't stand, his eyes remained on her.
It was almost like max was studying her in a sense, watching her every move and peeling back every layer she held while taking every secret for himself that she had until she was bare of them.
The only reason max broke his stare was when he saw Christian gesturing him over, leaving his very pissed dad behind he couldn't help but notice the narrowed eyes lita held at Christian and a ghost of a smirk couldn't stop itself painting his lips as he grew closer to the pair,
This was gonna be fun...
