Shiva had been studying the bird since the morning. It had been a week since he had brought her home. As time passed, the bird became silent. She first enjoyed playing with Ron. But today, she was just sitting by the window, staring out.

Ron was also sitting on the floor, observing the bird while frequently barking as though he would like to ask her to play.

"Hey, come on over here." Shiva called Ron.

Ron walked over to Shiva and started licking his face.

"She doesn't look well. She doesn't even eat anything. She just sat there the whole night. Perhaps you know what's wrong with her. She is a soul, just like you."

Ron did nothing, staring at Shiva's face for a while. Then he grabbed the narcotics Shiva had brought back from Karn. There was only a little left inside.

"It's not for you; don't touch it." When Shiva tried to grab it back, Ron ran away, carrying it in his jaws. Shiva chased after him.

With the sound of the doorbell, everyone stopped, their gaze fixed on the door.

"Come on, girl,"

Shiva whistled lightly, and the bird flew back to the briefcase. Ron slipped the narcotics packet into the briefcase as if he knew what he was doing.

"Don't worry, I'll get you checked out." Muttering to himself, Shiva closed the briefcase and placed it under the couch.

He took precautions before opening the door.

"Macc, why are you at my door?" stated Shiva.

"You aren't providing us with updates on the investigation, Mr. Shiva." As he walked in, Macc said, "Mr. Mayor, he wants to know your progress. It's been a week, and the mayor wants to know your progress."

"There aren't many locations or details to investigate in this case. I'm reading reports." Shiva stated, gesturing to the stacks of documents Maccs had left.

The documents were still where Macc had left them.

"Mr. Shiva, I appreciate your hard work." Macc said while picking up some papers, "I have these strong feelings that you did nothing except lay on that couch."

"Come on, you know we can only read reports." Shiva answered, forcing a fake smile.

"Anyway, the mayor would like to speak with you today. That's the reason I'm here."

"Why today?"

"He wants to hold a public conference because the election is close."

"I'm not prepared for any report yet." Shiva said nervously.

"Ok, I will inform Mayor." Macc stood up and asked, "Is there something wrong with your soul?"

When Macc noticed Ron sitting motionless in the same spot, unhappy and doing nothing, he asked.

"I didn't believe that. Why?"

"All he is doing is sitting. He hasn't even left this location since I got here. He simply stares out the window. The last time, he was very active."

"He enjoys watching the sky." Shiva added shrewdly, hopping Macc didn't know about the bird Shiva was hiding.

"He is definitely not okay, and you are giving him bird food." As Macc approached the window and noticed the bird food Shiva had set out, he said, "Why?"

"He liked bird food as well."

"Allow me to check."

When Macc put the food pot in front of the dog, Ron just gave it a sniff before turning back to stare out the window.
