Part-15

Ron's incessant barking woke Shiva up. Ron was sitting on top of him, barking nonstop.

"What? "Is there someone at the door?" As he looked at his wristband to check the time, Shiva said. "Who could be there so late at night?"

Shiva pushed Ron away from himself and began looking for the bird.

Bird returned swiftly to her briefcase, as though she was aware of Shiva's objectives.

Shiva saw that the bird's colour had somewhat changed.

The person at the door was impatient. The pounding on the door was nonstop.

Shiva quickly dematerialized the bird into the briefcase and moved to the door.

Maya hurried in and said to Shiva, "We have to go now."

Maya appeared anxious and was by herself.

Because there were no other police officers, Shiva suspected that something serious would occur, and Maya was in his room.

"It's still late at night, captain. I need time to change, please."

Shiva knew he had no choice but to go with Maya.

Before Shiva could act, Maya grasped his hand, and the two of them teleported.

"Why do you do this to me?"

They both materialized into an apartment.

"When I saw you alone, I realized it's important," Shiva uttered, maintaining self-control. "Please, don't treat me this way."

Shiva backed off of Maya.

"It can't wait. Paranormal will arrive at any moment. We have to hurry." Maya said as she hurriedly made her way into a room.

"You were right. Again, the murderer in the video has killed a retired police officer. Also, as you mentioned, a corrupt one. "

"What was the urgency, then?" Shiva replied.

"We discovered the dead body before Paranormal. Therefore, there is no possibility that Paranormal is falsifying information or influencing the facts in any way."

"That is not possible. By now, Paranormal must have known," stated Shiva.

"That's why we're here." As she showed Shiva a dead body, Maya said.

The police were already in the room when Shiva entered.

There was Jack, too, standing by a corpse.

"This time it's Bill, and Jack was the first to find out." Maya said.

"Why did you come here?" Shiva asked Jack with a suspicious look.

"He was my partner in business. Tonight, we had a meeting." Jack lamented in his reply.

"At this late in the night, I wouldn't be surprised." Shiva commented as he approached Bill's dead body and started to examine it. "Riya, what does your analysis say?"

"Whether you have a physical body or not, it is the same. Nothing differs." Working on her console, Riya replied, "As you can see, the same weapon is used to kill Bill."

"That basterd murdered my two best friends. I'm going to murder that asshole."

Jack was crying. "No matter what has to be done or whatever it takes,"

"Captain, I believe we should leave. Paranormal can strike at any time." Riya said, turning off all her devices.

Maya gave her team the order, "All right, move."

At the same moment, paranormal investigators entered the room.

"How come the police arrived before us?" Nick asked in shock.

Paranormal officers were pushing police officers out of the way.

"Hey, we're not bad either. Please don't treat us like we don't exist. We're going to wait outside." Maya yelled in defence of her squad.

The police were all waiting outside, as the room was soon closed from the inside.

"Did anyone discover anything?" Miya query her group.

When her team did not respond, disappointment was written all over everyone's face.

Turning around, Maya asked Shiva. "You were saying that you're going to get him next time?"

"You didn't listen to me then." Shiva replied.

"Your instinct was right. You told me that it would be a policeman who would die."

"I just guessed at it. I'm starting to wonder why he is murdering retired police officers. He is not crazy. He is choosing his target very carefully." said Shiva.

"People are dying. And now that we know people can be killed in Zone. He is receiving numerous offers from people on the Dark Web to kill people. However, he hasn't yet accepted any offers. Obviously, he has no desire to make Jules."

"Yes, captain. Why would he take the risk of killing a powerful businessman? said Shiva.

"Perhaps he wants to prove something," Maya suggested.

"If he really wanted to prove himself, he should have chosen a much higher target, like Mayor or any celebrity. Although he had made the decision to kill a retired police officer connected to the biggest robbery case in Zone's history. Nayak, his first victim, was also involved in the same case," Shiva explained.

"You fool, don't make it to back up your argument." Jack strode over to Shiva.

"Five police officers were looking into the biggest heist in history. Following that, one was found guilty, two retired, and one was declared mentally unfit." Miya said, attempting to recall.

"And one is still working for the police." Shiva said, pointing to Jack.

Jack landed a strong punch on Shiva's face.

"You and I were both involved in that same case, you moron." Jack sneered.

Maya responded, "You're saying that you guys are his next target?"

"It is also a guess, captain." Shiva rubbed his chin and muttered.

Nick, the Paranormal guy, came out of the room.

"You can now look into this. Remember where you stand, Captain, and don't impede Paranormal work in the future." As he handed Maya a disk, Nick said.

"I'll do my best to remember what you said. Riya." As though she was unwilling to examine it, Maya gave the disk back to Riya.

Jack, Riya, and other law enforcement officers left the area.

"Don't you have something to ask?" Nick asked Shiva.

"No, Mr. Nick, not this time. I now realize that you people are also in the dark." Shiva answered Nick back.

From there, Nick teleported using his wristband.

"There is something wrong with you guys," Maya asked Shiva after observing that a Paranomal was wishing to talk to him.

"Not to be concerned about. Simply an official matter," Shiva answered.

"Follow my advice and don't get too close to any Paranormal." Maya said, extending her hand to him.

"Captain, let me give you some advice. Never touch my hand again. Where will you take me next time? I wonder." Shiva said, walking away from Maya.

"All right, I just want to teleport you back to your room," Maya jokingly stated.

"Thank you, but no. It's already morning, and I'm heading to the asylum. I'm almost certain I'll catch the video killer; I just need to be certain about something."
