(I will never leave you, even when I sleep.
I will protect you even in dreams)In the tender embrace of Krishna, Paayal had a peaceful sleep for about 4 hours straight. This time, she didn't have nightmares. Instead, a sense of security enveloped her, shielding her from nightmares. After about 4 hours of peaceful sleep, she opened her eyes slowly.
Krishna was reading their academic Physics book, keeping the book on the side arm of the sofa. As Paayal rose from his lap, Krishna turned to her. "You woke up? Have you slept well?" He inquired.
"Yes Krishna. Thank you for sitting in one position for a long time. Thank you for your patience," She forced a smile, knowing that she had restricted his movements for a long time.
"Don't say thanks. It's my responsibility to keep my.....friend comfortable," Krishna replied, a warm smile gracing his lips.
His care was melting Paayal's heart. Feeling so much gratitude, she said once again, "Thank you."
"I said no need for thanks." Krishna furrowed his eyebrows.
"Okay," Paayal made a face and asked, "Are you reading our academic books even now? You are so much into studies, it seems."
Krishna murmured under his breath, looking down, "Then What to do? If I sit simply, looking at your angelic sleeping face for long hours, How can I stop myself from admiring you? If I admired you for long hours, I would have not been able to control myself from kissing your soft cheeks. To divert myself, I was reading the book."
She looked at him puzzled and asked, "What are you murmuring?"
Keeping his thoughts to himself, he looked up at her and grinned, "Yes, I am more into studies."
Paayal nodded.
"Shall we have our lunch?" Krishna asked, as it was time for lunch. More than his hunger, he wanted Paayal to eat at right times as she was unwell.
"But, My brother told me to have lunch in our school canteen. As our servant didi is on leave, the lunch was not prepared. We have to prepare." Paayal said.
"It's okay. I have brought lunch. Let's share it." Krishna suggested and added sternly, "So, You pretended like getting ready to school in your uniform in front of your brother. As soon as he left, you drowned in the bathtub. You planned everything already. Isn't it?"
Paayal shook her head up and down in agreement, keeping her face innocently.
"Nice plan," Krishna said in a sarcastic tone.
"Sorry... " Paayal made a sad face.
"Plan to live, Not to die." His stern tone was persisting.
"I said sorry, right? Then why are you being stern?" Paayal pouted, though she could understand his care behind his stern voice.
"Okay leave it. Let's have our lunch." Krishna said, not wanting to roam around the same gloomy topic again, and took his tiffin box from his bag.
He opened the tiffin box and asked, "Do you want me to feed you now too?"
Paayal thought for a moment and replied, "No Krishna, If I get used to it, then I will be missing you everytime when I have my food. I will eat myself now."
"Hmm okay, But you can ask me to feed you at any time." Krishna smiled.
Paayal nodded, and they delved into their shared lunch in silence without knowing what to chat. Usually there will be a lot to chat during the initial days of any relationship. As understanding grows, the words would become insignificant, spreading loving words even in silence. But Krishna and Paayal felt that understanding and the love lingering in the air, even in their initial days of their relationship. They didn't know how it was possible to feel so connected with a person that soon. But, they did feel it. They had a connection from all their previous births, it seemed. There was silence. But, The silence spoke more than words, as they were having lunch, looking at each other with smiles.
