என்னை நீ மாற்றினாய்
எங்கும் நிறம் பூட்டினாய்
என் மனம் இல்லையே என்னிடம்!
(You had changed me,
Coloured my life everywhere,
My heart is not mine anymore)As the reception celebrations began, the wedding hall ambience changed into a more festive mood. The traditional tunes changed into western instrumental tunes. The happy newly wedded couple were posing for photos with their relatives on stage. The cameraman was skillfully capturing pictures and videos of their shared laughter, whispered teasings, shared congratulations, and every little emotion of their excitement about shared tomorrows.
Amidst the celebrations, Paayal was sitting on a front row chair, holding their gift in her hands. As she had written her and Krishna's name on the label when they bought the gift, she ran her forefinger on Krishna's name ever so softly with a smile and blush. "Krishna, Why does this love feel so beautiful and blissful? I was feeling dark and hollow inside me till a few hours ago. But now I feel as if I am stuffed with all the colours of the world. If this is the feeling of love, I want to fall for you again and again and I want to feel this way again and again."
She was interrupted by a soft female voice, "Paayal... "
She turned back. It was Saanvi and two more girls who were also their classmates. Paayal smiled and complimented them as they were all adorned in the elegance of shining silk sarees, "You are all looking more beautiful and matured in saree."
"Leave it. Why are you wearing a casual dress? If you too wore a saree, it would be good," Saanvi pouted, taking a seat near her.
"That... I don't have experience in wearing sarees," Paayal replied, forcing a smile.
Saanvi raised her eyebrows playfully. "Experience? Am I having years of experience in wearing sarees? I too just wore it for the first time."
Paayal sighed. "Hmm, I will wear it next time, if we go to any functions."
Saanvi nodded and inquired, "Where is Krishna and Ajay?"
"They went to the dining hall to check the lunch preparations. They will come now," Paayal responded. Saanvi acknowledged with a nod.
The conversation was paused, as Saanvi turned to chat with her other friends. But Paayal's mind was erupting with a curiosity about Krishna, his likes and dislikes. Though she knew about his character, she didn't know his likes and dislikes as they never conversed about it. She thought of unraveling her curiosity about Krishna and called, "San..."
Saanvi turned to her.
Paayal began to ask hesitantly, "San, You and Krishna are studying together from first standard. You might be knowing everything about him right?!"
"Maybe yes...." Saanvi agreed.
"What is his favourite food?" Paayal asked, hoping to discover the dishes that delighted his taste buds so that she could surprise him with the dish one day.
Saanvi shot her a mix of doubtful and teasing looks. "Why are you suddenly asking all this? Is there anything special between you and him?"
She shook her immediately in denial. "No No, just asked," She stammered.
Saanvi, sensing something strange in her, nodded her head teasingly and replied, "Chicken biryani."
"Oh.." She nodded, moving on, she inquired about his pet peeves. "Then, What does he dislike the most? I mean, What makes him angry? Any particular character he can't stand?"
