Things Are Finally Looking Up

8. Niall's Birthday

Lilly's POV
Niall's birthday is coming up and the best part is that it is at the Phoenix show! I contacted the stadium, I was able to be there a day before the show; I spent the day helping them put the papers in the seats, but I had to fly back that night since I had a concert. I contacted a few Facebook fan pages to ask help with their friends to set up what I wanted to do and we got it done in time. I've been planning this since the tour started... It was sort of something similar I helped Sophia with for Liam's Birthday, we brought out a cake, did a video from all fans why they love Liam, I'm doing that the same, but this time, I'm kind of copying what the fans did at San Siro. A gigantic stadium poster will say "Happy Birthday, Niall" on one side, the other side will show his baby picture compared to his most recent, and then down on the floor I had the Irish flag printed out and laminated for each seat. All of the fans had a non-laminated Irish flag printed out, they would write a birthday message, we would laminate it, and put it into a huge album for him. The video will play and then we'll sing Happy Birthday!

The plan worked as it did, Niall was so surprised, and he was teary with the video. I took a picture, we sang Happy Birthday to him, he hugged me, and I put a green crown on his head. He said to the crowd, "Lilly is the best thing that has happened to me! I love you." I replied, "Aww, I love you more darling!" We kissed; that sent everyone into a frenzy! I brought the cake backstage, we ate some after the concert, had a party with alcohol since he was finally twenty-one, and went to bed.

My shows the next two nights are going to be in Phoenix as well. I sent backstage passes to all of my old friends and family to come on the last concert!

The next day I had my first concert in Phoenix; it was great. The next night, it was unexpected...
I did the performance as usual and I sang the song I wrote about Niall, "Right There". I saw Niall come out; I was surprised, he was in a tuxedo. It was a good thing I choose a really fancy dress. It's a long sequin slimming dress that went down to the floor and was turquoise. He waltzed me as I sang and when I finished, I asked, "What are you doing here?" He said, "Surprising you." I laughed saying, "Well, I certainly am surprised." He sat me down saying, "Lilly, I want to sing you a song..." I nodded; someone handed him a guitar with a headset. He sang me the song 18 and the boys were in the background backing him up on vocals, I was teary by the end. He gave the guitar to one of the boys and he said, "From the day I met you, I have loved you. I've loved you through all the trials and tribulations that we faced together. I want you to know, this isn't what you think it is, " he pulled me to my feet and went down on one knee. My heart stopped and my hands went to cover my mouth, he said, "This is a promise ring and I promise to be there for you whenever you need it, I promise to be honest to you, I promise to love you everyday and show you. Will you please accept this promise ring?" I shouted, "Yes!" Into my mic, tossed it to one of the boys, Niall slid the ring onto my finger, I hugged him, and I whispered into his ear, "I forgive you..." He looked at me shocked, but then he kissed me passionately, picked me up and spun me around a few times! I laughed, grabbed my mic and said, "I am going to be back in ten minutes, let this sink in, stop crying, thank you to the rest of One Direction for being here and just a note, this is a promise ring, not an engagement ring!" Niall said, "Special thanks to Lilly's best friends!" I smiled, we went backstage and took a few pictures where we posted them on all social media's. I finished the concert with a smile never leaving my face.

It was after the concert where I ran up to Niall and jumped into his arms. He said, "Thank you, thank you!" I smiled and said, "I love you, Niall..." He smiled back saying, "I love you more..." We kissed and went back to the hotel where we were having a small party with all of my hometown friends and family and Harry said, "To Niall and Lilly, may their relationship be full of love and compassion." Everyone said, "To Niall and Lilly" We blushed and drank a sip of champagne. I couldn't stop smiling that night. I had my friends and family stay at the connecting bedrooms next to ours and we went to bed at around midnight. The next morning, we left to continue the tour and I was happy to see my family and friends again!
