"Reagan."

At the sound of my name I stretch out, my hands seeking out Archer only to find the bed empty. I run my hand over the sheet feeling disappointed. I'm not sure what time it is but it's clear Archer isn't here nor have he been here for awhile. Wait, if Archer isn't here then who- I open my eyes while I sit up. I rub at them as they adjust to the light suddenly turning on. Vic stands in the doorway, looking down at his feet. "Sorry, I wouldn't have bardge in if it wasn't important. I know you two technically still have a day left..."

It's customary for newly mated wolves to get a minimum of three days of no disturbance. "No, it's okay, what do you need?" I pull the cover up higher to hide myself.

Sure Vic has seen me naked many times before but this is different. Im not naked because I shifted, I'm naked because of his brother which is an awkward thought. "Where's Archer?"

My stomach twists at his words, something eerily familiar about the question. "He isn't here?"

"No, he's not responding to link nor calls."

"What do you mean?"

"The beta has been trying to get ahold of him. He didn't enlighten me what all it was about other than some rogues."

I slip out of the bed, grabbing clothes from my dresser and dressing as I go. Once I round the bed I trip hitting the floor harshly. I grab archers shoe tossing it across the room. "One day I'm going to break something. He never puts-" I cut myself off as a sick feeling spreads through me.

"Reagan?"

"No," I whisper as it dawns on me.

"I know it's annoying and all, Archer not ever putting his shoes up, but can you do a sniff and find him?"

This time it's different but yet vaguely similar. Perhaps it's because I'm living in the moment and not a past spectator but it doesn't stop the worry itching through me. I put a hand over my chest focusing on the beating beneath it. When I feel two bears instead of one relief floods me.

He is alive but that doesn't fix that we don't know where he is. "Reagan?" Victor asks kneeling beside me and wiping underneath my eye. I hadn't realized I started crying. "What's wrong?"

"It's happened," I whisper. "The dreams. I've seen this. He's gone, he's missing. Weeks will go by and we won't find him, Vic," my voice breaks as I try to sort through my thoughts. "Ghost... Wen..."

"You're not making any sense."

I pull back from him before grabbing my journal flipping to two dreams I've had. He reads through them looking just as confused as I do. "Let's look first," he whispers.

For the next few hours we run around the pack in our wolf forms searching for Archer. At least just a scent of him but it seems as if he just disappeared in the front yard. I even resort to attempting a locator spell but that is fruitless.

Despite all of this I can't help but scold myself. How didn't I wake when he left? Or did someone take him? No, I'm a light sleeper for the most part, if someone else entered the house I definitely would I known. His phone, and all of his shoes were still at the house. Whoever got him didn't enter the house so he must've known them well enough to trust them to leave.

I would have heard them if they called out to him, or even called so they had to use a packlink. Someone in the pack had to get him to leave the house. As time goes on it comes even more obvious I need to speak with Beta Garrett before I proceed with anything else.

We head to the pack house after that. The beta should be there.

When we enter Archers office the beta, the gamma, and mother Luna are there. "We still have to listen to his orders if he is here or not. We will not send anyone past the borders," the beta shouts.
