The look on Alpha Archer's face could kill after those words were uttered from the Elder's mouth. Almost directly after Archer grabbed my wrist and dragged me to his office while muttering that we all needed to be in a more private setting for this conversation. I am forced to sit in a chair while we wait for them to enter the office. The alpha critically watches the door until it is shut and locked. "I know what I have done was not exactly legal. It was in the heat of the moment and-"
"Heat of the moment? You have single-handedly ruined our family name!" This comes from the man Archer has been sending dirty looks to.
"I didn't think it would work. I just, she saved me and I couldn't stand by and let her die drowning in her own blood when I could do something," Archer argues back while putting his hand on my shoulder. He gently squeezes it while shaking his head. It seems like he is desperate for someone to understand why he saved me. Like he has to have them understand his reasoning and to feel the same way.
The first man humorlessly chuckles. "We understand that Archer, but it is still against our rules." A woman softly adds while shaking her head.
"The last thing we needed was a rabid runt running around."
"She obviously isn't rabid," Archer hisses back towards the bitter man. "I will admit that she has had a few changes but it isn't like any of the other times."
"Is that so?" Another man asks.
Archer sighs. It is like he doesn't want to explain to them, though I can't blame him. He risked his title for me, knowing it will bring immense pressure upon himself. Our council is known to be a bit power hungry and want to diminish as much power from the alphas as they can. This incident gives a perfect reason to drain power from an Acer alpha. Having this pack would be the biggest power move for them.
"There is no unprompted anger or aggression. She may have some anger but it has always been provoked from her. She has not challenged my authority or commands but she has had bouts of speaking up for herself, which is uncommon for female runts, as you know. Her wolf will take control but it tends to be," he pauses glancing at me not wanting to say his next words, "more flirtatious?"
"Flirtatious?" Another says slowly, obviously confused. Alpha shifts on his feet, seeming more uncomfortable while I feel like I can drown in my own embarrassment. Is he talking about Isaac? I don't think that it's necessarily considered flirting if Beta Isaac is doing most of it. Well, yeah, okay, so has my wolf but she is a literal animal. What do you expect?
"We already know that upper ranked unmated males, especially of the main three, tend to have influence over unmated females. It seems that Reagan has caused the same influence over other members belonging to a different pack, so far to even reach influence of their Beta," he explains. I glance up at my Alpha with a confused look. Is that what he really thinks? Is Beta Isaac only interested in me because of this Alpha blood? I'm not sure if that hurts me or makes sense, probably both. Everyone then glances at me like they expect me to do something like they expect to magically just see this more alluring side to me.
"So you have turned one of your lowest ranked pack members into an alpha fueled seductress?" The first woman asks. I grimace at her words like they've physically hurt me. It makes me feel... Icky. I am in no sense or form a seductress.
"She isn't a danger-"
"As of yet."
"Do you doubt my judgment father?" Archer asks sickly sweet. Father? Is this judgmental man really father Alpha Daniel? He seems so young, almost Archer's age to be honest but yet at the same time, he seems older. The more I look between the two the more similarities I can find, like the stunning amber eyes though the fathers have lost the bright glow that Alpha's hold. No wonder it's called the Amber gaze of the Acer Alpha.
