And now, we are finally back to Celia's P.O.V. Yay!!!
I walk over to our bedroom balcony and stare down into the garden below. It is already filled with life despite the fact that it is dark. That is where Flynn wanted his birthday party, though. I must say that it is a beautiful spot to have a party.
The gardens are the prettiest in the Summer. All the flowers seem to have bolder shades. The hedges seem to be fully grown. Tonight, there are lanterns strung across the sky to light up the party. There are tables scattered through out the garden. A table with presents sits next to the door. Another table full of refreshments sits under a tent, the large cake right in the middle.
A knock on my door grabs my attention. I check my reflection in the mirror once more, making sure that I look like I wanted. I fix a few strands of hair that have fallen, pull my dress up a little, then rush over to the door. I pull it open.
Flynn stands on the other side. I take in his suit and smile when I see his yellow tie. I hear him mumble, "Woah." as he takes in my outfit. I smile and look down. I have on a long, yellow dress with ruffles on the skirt. I have on sparkly, silver heels that match the ones on part of my dress. My necklace is a silver chain with a C charm and I have on a silver cuff bracelet. My hair is pulled back into a braid that wraps around my head with a tiara settles in the front.
"Is it too much?" I ask with a smile. He smiles back and shakes his head.
"No. You look beautiful, Celia," he says. I step out and wrap my arms around him. It feels so safe in his arms, especially after the accident.
I haven't been home a full month. I was let out of the ICU two days after I came to. Then, they put me in a regular room. They watched and monitored all my vitals and such but I think that was just to know for sure I was fine. I went into physical therapy about a week and a half of staying in the normal room. I stayed there for a month after after getting out of the ICU. They allowed me to come back to the palace as long as I promised to have physical therapy and all their other treatments that I would normally need.
"Thank you, Flynn. You look really handsome, too," I tell him. He kisses my forehead before taking my hand and leading me down the hallway. "Are you looking forward to your party?" I ask. He nods.
"Yeah, but I am just even happier that I get to celebrate it with you," he says. I look over at him.
"Flynn, I was going to wake up. Did you ever doubt me?" I ask. He laughs.
"I don't know that I ever thought you were going to die. You never got worse, although for a while you never got better. I was just scared that there was nothing to do to save you," he says. I nod.
"Flynn, there was plenty to do and they did it. I'm lucky that I was in and out of there in less than three months. Most coma patients are lucky that they aren't being wheeled down to the morgue," I tell him. He nods and looks down at me.
"That's true. . . Plus there was always the whole thing with wanting to save the future queen," he says. I laugh and nod.
"Yeah, there was always that, too," I tell him. "Seriously, don't let me scare you with that type of stuff. I'm like a goddess or something," I tell him. He looks down at me with a raised eyebrow.
"A goddess?" he questions. I nod.
"A beautiful, immortal soul with lots of power," I say. He chuckles as we reach the first floor.
"Yeah, a goddess, then," he says. We reach the garden doors quickly and he looks down at me.
"Are you ready for your birthday in the palace?" I ask. He smiles and nods.
"I am. I think it will be different from birthdays on the farm," he says. I smile and nod.
"It probably will be," I tell him. A guard near the garden door announces our arrival as we walk outside. Everyone there bows and we receive applause. We begin walking around the garden, talking to everyone present. We receive a variety of comments: Happy birthday, you two are adorable together, we're glad you aren't dead.
Once we're finally done speaking to everyone, Flynn nods towards a space that is the middle of all the people yet is deserted. Well, with the exception of the little stage set up for the band. He takes my hand.
"What are you doing?" I ask. He begins to lead me over to the spot.
"We're dancing," he says. We stop right in the middle of the spot. Bushes circle us like a crowd. I raise my eyebrows to question him. "I want my first dance as a twenty year old right here, right now. I want it in the middle of the big, empty spot with you. Now, can't you make all my birthday wishes come true?" he explains. I laugh and nod.
"You're so demanding as twenty year old. What has time done to you?" I ask. He laughs and slides his hand onto my side. I put my hand on his arm. The band finishes the last song they played and begin playing a slower melody.
We begin dancing; taking two steps in one direction then two more in another direction. As one of the members of the band begins singing, I feel like this moment is between Flynn and I and no one else.
"You're in my arms, and all the world is calm.
The music playing on for only two
So close, together. And when I'm with you
So close, to feeling alive."Flynn raises his arm and before I know it, I'm spinning out away from him. Then, his hand pulls me back in so I am right there with him again. We continue the two steps, listening to the music.
"So close to reaching
That famous happy end.Almost believing
This one's not pretend. And now you're beside me,
And look how far we've come.
So far we are. So close..."As the music slows to a stop, Flynn dips me down slowly. He comes forward and kisses me. His lips on mine are so special, so sweet. This is our feeling; something no one else can have.
We finally separate when we hear the sound of people applauding around us. People have now crowded around the once deserted area to watch us. Flynn and I both blush, not happy to be caught in such an intimate moment. He grabs my hand and begins pulling me away.
"Where are we going?" I ask as we walk through the crowd. He looks back at me and smiles.
"I don't know," he says. I giggle but don't reply. He pulls me behind some hedges that wrap around in a small circle. In the middle is a water fountain but that is all that resides the space.
"Happy birthday," I tell Flynn. I wrap my arms around him again. He slides his arms around me as he puts a small kiss on my forehead.
"Thank you," he whispers back. He looks down at me once more with a small smirk on his face. "Do you know what would make this birthday even better?" he asks. I shake my head. He whispers, "This." before leaning down and giving me another passionate kiss.
You guys have no clue how much I enjoyed writing this. I loved this scene and yeah. Thank you so much for suggesting that this happen next! It was a great idea and I'm so glad I was able to incorporate it into the story! If any of you noticed, this chapter is labeled Epilogue #1. This is because there are three more epilogues to come then information about the sequel! Please comment and vote!
The video is the song/dance that was used here. I like to imagine that that was how Flynn and Celia looked when dancing (like she's Giselle is a ginger and everything!) It's from Enchanted in case you recognized it... The picture is of Celia's outfit. I'm really proud of myself because I put it together all by myself on Polyvore. :D
If the formatting on this chapter is weird, I apologize. There is something wrong with my computer and I don't know what to do with it.
Disclaimer: Kiera Cass was the one to make you all happy with Maxerica. I'm just writing about Flia.
