"I have came to the conclusion that Mr. Hetfield.." the judge started
James seemed to lose his breath, he wanted nothing more than this to go in his favor
He had a strong feeling that if his little girl was released into the care of his ex girlfriend.. she would be dead in a week.
"That Mr. Hetfield will remain the sole parent in custody, with the occasional parent visit of Mrs. Jessica Simpson.. I believe leaving your daughter alone with the mother is causing some serious trauma and we want to put an end to that. She will no longer be allowed to be left alone with the mother as I have fear that the child will be put in harms way." The judge continued
James felt pure relief at the information, he got to keep his little girl.. and couldn't be more happier
"I am basing this decision from what I've learned from your daughter and the police report of the 5th of December." The judge said
James seemed confused.. the fuck happened on the 5h of December..?
James cleared his throat and the judge pulled his head up
"Uh.. your honor, If you don't mind me asking.. what happened on the 5th of December..?" James asked shyly
The judge looked at him shocked "wait your telling me you don't know what happened?"
"Well.. judging by the time frame I'm assuming I was on tour and had left my daughter, Clover with her mother, Jessica" James explained
The judge sighed and shook his head
"Mrs Simpson, your meaning to tell me the father didn't know?" She asked sounding a bit pissed
Jessica slowly shook her head no
The judge shook his head again "Mrs. Simpson was charged with child abuse and neglect when officers we're called to the house on a suspect that she was using a child to help her make money in.. various ways, upon arriving officers noticed that your daughter had in fact been abused and was being used in.. sex work if you will.." the judge announced
James felt utterly shocked "you used my daughter for sex work! And you fucking beat her!" He yelled looking at his ex
Jessica gulped, she knew she was in trouble
"Now.. we did an investigation to find out how far it went and it's safe to say it didn't go too far, it only left your daughter terribly afraid of the mother, which I understand.." the judge continued
All James saw was absolute red..
"So with that being said I believe that putting Mrs. Simpson in custody would simply be an act of injustice and I will not have that in my court. I do have to say Mrs. Simpson you put on quite an act.. but the facts are just too big and I don't trust you. This case and any others that come up regarding this family is officially closed." The judge stated slamming his gavel down
James felt his fist clenching, he wanted desperately to punch this bitch. But he knew it was wrong
Cliff walked up with Clover on his hip "James.. I know it feels like you should be angry.. and you definitely should, but don't do something drastic.. Clover is okay, don't throw away what god gave you today.." Cliff said while rubbing a sleeping Clovers back
"It's just.. who would do that to their child.." James said upset
"I know.. but think of it this way.. no one did anything to her except Jessica beating her.. and she will never get her hands on Clover again" Cliff told him, making him calm down
James nodded feeling a bit better, he gently took Clover from the Bassist and held her close to him.. feeling her cuddle into his warm embrace he smiled
"That little girl needs you.. don't let her down." Cliff said before walking away to join the other two
James kissed Clover on the head mumbling "it's just you, me, and the world of metal baby.."
-A few months later-
James loaded up Clover and his stuff onto the bus, as Clover giggled running up the steps and into the bus
"Uncle Cliffy! Where is you..." She asked in a cooing tone before softly giggling
"Clover hunny what are you doing?" Kirk asked chuckling
"I look for Uncle Cliffy.. shh it secret" she told him holding her finger to her lips
"Ahh I see.. he's in his bunk" Kirk told her smiling at how adorable she was
"Fanks Uncle Kirky, u alway helps me.." she gently hugged his leg before pitter pattering to Cliffs bunk
James walked in and looked around confused
"She went to go surprise Cliff" Kirk told him
James shook his head smiling "that girl.. I swear she loves Cliff more than any of us"
"Well I mean.. maybe they just bond or something" Kirk told him before hearing a shout
"YOU'RE SO CUTE STOP IT!" Cliff shouted from the bunks
Cliff ran out with Clover in his arms "she's wearing a pink bunny onesie.. how fucking cute is that!" He practically squealed to the boys
James chuckled "she said she wanted to be a cute bunny today.."
"Well she understood the assignment, cause she is absolutely fucking adorable" Cliff said before kissing her cheek
"Uncle Cliffy look at me socks!" She exclaimed
Cliff moved her pant leg up a bit before busting out laughing
"What?" Kirk asked confused
"She's wearing socks with my face on it!" Cliff said laughing full heartily
"I honestly forgot she begged for me to put them on her" James said laughing as well
"I love them baby bunny, they're amazing" Cliff told her kissing her cheek again
"They my favorite" Clover told him giggling
"Now I've gotta get socks with your face on em, I would wear them like everyday" Cliff told her smiling
