Light and darkness.
Light is referred to in the Christian Bible as God—literally as the illuminator, the creator, the generator—or all that was, is, and ever will be. But Darkness is everything that swallows that light and turns it into utter damnation.
Light is the beginning, while Darkness is the end.
Light and Dark will never coexist in this religion-driven world.
That is why...
When Raon and Ryung told him that Alver Crossman had been watching him during the previous banquet, he was unsure whether to believe one theory or the other.
Duality of personality.
The good Alver on the surface and the evil Alver beneath.
Cale remained motionless as he waited for the prince to move in front of him. Cillian has always warned him not to trust anyone, especially the Thames and the Royal family.
He assumed it was all a nightmare.
But... Alver, his most trusted confidante, has turned against him and his family.
Just because the previous Cale refused to serve as his confidante.
He recalled the original story of the Hero's Birth.
The King of Rowoon, Alver Crossman, was supposed to become one of the world's enemies.
He exhaled sharply and smiled in disbelief. Cale was torn, but he preferred the chipmunk Alver to the man standing directly in front of him.
Cale investigated everything after returning from the banquet, and the reason for his downfall...
Was this the tyrant's dark version of Alver Crossman?
Cale mocks, "Are you happy now?" He considered corrupting the chipmunk into the greatest king, but he was conflicted about approaching this man in the same way he approached Alver in his previous world.
Cale knew his flowery words would not help him, and he knew he would die if this person pulled the sword from his waist.
"You would not be suffering if you had agreed to serve me," Alver says darkly.
"Hah, I would be in pain if I bowed down to you."
His goal would remain a slacker life.
"Had I bowed down before you, you would not have treated me as an individual." Cale was well aware that TBOAH's Alver used everyone at his disposal to seize the throne, even slaughtering his own family. "I would be worse than a cattle if I did."
Alver gave a dubious smile.
This is the first time he has experienced creeps. He thought it was White Star who gave him the chills, but it was the person who used to be closest to him.
When Cale read all about the records the previous Cale had written in this life, he felt betrayed by how this person treated the previous Cale.
Cillian had to abandon his family to protect them after Alver Crossman betrayed this world's Cale.
"Humans ostracised us dark beings because we were children of darkness, and you were as well, looking at me like that."
"Are you sure?" Cale asked. He had never looked at him as some heretic in this life or the world before. His gaze had always been straight and direct, unconcerned with the world and its rules. "You're the one who looked at me in disgust."
