Violet has won all of her challenges so far, and so have I of course. My name is not posted today and I stand next to Violet who seems a bit to excited for my liking.
"Sorry Violet. You were supposed to challenge Rayma, but she's been taken to the healers because she can't seem to walk in a straight line."
"That's too bad. Should I just ..."
She starts backing off the mat when Xaden's cold voice makes me pull my gaze from her.
"I'm happy to step in."
I give him the coldest of looks as Emetterio asks if he's sure.
"Absolutely."
Violet's face goes white and I hold my gaze at Riorson.
"You're all in for a treat. Xaden's one of the best fighters we have, watch and learn."
"Of course you are."
I hear Violet murmur.
"A little out of her league don't you think?"
I hear Dain beside me now.
"Relax Aetos. She'll be in one piece when I'm finished teaching her."
"I hardly think it's fair."
"No one asked you to think Squad Leader."
Xaden discards all of his weapons to Imogen across the mat from me.
"You don't think you'll need those?"
"Nope, not when you've brought enough for the both of us."
He taunts with a come on motion.
"Let's go."
My blood is boiling now as I'm forced to watch this. Violet throws a dagger at his chest and Xaden catches it! This is how the match continues to go, and I feel a hand pull mine behind me in a grasp. I don't need to look to see its Bodhi.
"He's not going to hurt her."
"Good, because if he does I'll have to hurt him back."
Violet slamming into the mat makes me whence. She gets up and goes at him harder. I see him whispering in her ear. He disarms her again. She's getting angry and I shake my head. I bite my tongue as he puts one of her daggers to Violet's throat. Bodhi let's go of my hand, but stays close to me. As he continues to disarm her I count each one in my head. She only has five left. She circles him and he stands in the middle.
"Are you going to prance, or are you going to strike?"
The anger gets the better of her. When she smacks into the mat I about lose it. He throws one dagger to Dain's feet. The other he puts to her throat again. I don't like this teaching lesson.
"Ah she can be taught."
Xaden states in a mocking tone.
"She's a quick learner."
Violet snaps.
"That remains to be seen."
