My head began to pound as I hear someone complaining about oranges. I blink quickly to adjust my eye sight as I begin to wake up. I try to sit up but feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn with a balled fist ready to knock someone's teeth in, but I quickly realize it's Bodhi.
"I told you to be careful with your head."
I groan and close my palms over my eyes.
"Why are you shouting at me?"
He chuckled softly.
"Unfortunately for you, I'm not shouting. I am actually just talking. That is a form of punishment for your misbehavior. Along with probably headaches, nausea, oh and no flying until you're cleared by Nolan."
I gently let go of my face and look to him.
"He didn't try to mend me, did he?"
"As much as I tried to negotiate with him to do so, he said he wouldn't. Said he promised you that a long time ago."
I smirk and lower myself back down to the pillow.
"At least he's good for something."
Bodhi chuckled as I groaned from hearing Xaden lecturing Violet a couple beds down.
"I love you, but is there a way you can get him to quiet down."
He grips my hand and squeezes it.
"Oh Talon darling, it's such a compliment that you think I have that much sway."
I smirked again and tap along the mental bond with Rebel.
'Good to hear that I get the chance to kill you for your stupidity.'
I grip my head as his growl rattles my brain. Bodhi laughs.
"That dragon of yours took a lot of convincing to not tear down half of Basgiath."
"Well, he sure isn't happy with me to be that concerned."
'I will be concerned till the very last second of your existence little one.'
I catch a glimpse of Xaden walking towards me. I look into his blazing eyes as he makes it to the end of my bed.
"I'm only going to say this once Riorson. Keep your voice down, please."
"I'll give you a little slack for being kept in the dark on this. But I'm taking over her training and if you even hear a faint whisper she's in trouble. You tell me Highbrooke."
I scoff and whence at the pain that shoots through my head.
"I found out right before Liam ran to get you. I can spare circles around you, and I am the only first year to ever jump to my second. Please tell me how you are going to teach her better than I am."
Bodhi pushes me back down gently as I begin to rise in my bed again.
"Oh my cousin allowed me the opportunity to tell you. You aren't allowed in the sparring gym until Nolan approves that too."
Riorson's humor dances along my patience as he says those last few words.
"Sounds to me like you're not teaching her anything anytime soon Highbrooke. Also, since you pushed my last nerve with you. I'm going to add a little punishment in there too, you know since I'm your wing leader and all. I'm really going to enjoy that."
I push past Bodhi and stand up off the bed. A little dizzy and wobbly I gain my footing.
"Do your worst Riorson, because there is going to be hell to pay for it. That's not a threat, it's a promise."
I begin to walk out of the infirmary when Nolan's large form steps in the doors in front of me.
"Talon, get in that bed now! You went against multiple direct orders. Don't add me to your enemy list tonight. You already caused yourself a long road to recovery with your little stunt. I am not in the mood to deal with you falling and making it worse."
I murmured lots of curse words as I turned around and walked back to my bed. Xaden and Bodhi's laughter from next to me rattles my brain. I grab the pillow from the empty bed next to mine. I shove it over my face as I lay back down.
"Are you going to smother yourself?"
Xaden's dry humor stifles. I let out a long sigh.
"At least if I did that I wouldn't have to deal with your insufferable ass."
I groan.
"Now is that any way to talk to your wing leader?"
I jump up and ignore the pain surging through my brain as I land a hard jab in Xaden's ribs. He growls a bit and jolts away from me. Bodhi continues to chuckle beside me and I turn to him in warning.
"Just because I love you, doesn't mean I won't beat your ass if needed."
The next day:
I sat on my bed and was bored out of my mind. I had laid here, gotten ahead on homework, well as much as I could, and took a walk around the flight field twice. I huffed and sat up before standing. I grabbed my target off my desk and hung it on the side of the armoire. I went to the back wall of my bedroom and started throwing.
I would throw 2 or three and then walk over to pull them from the target. There was a knock on the door and I didn't even think to tell anyone to come in. The door slowly creeped open and Bodhi's head popped in.
"Please don't tell me you're picturing that as Nolan?"
I looked at him and threw the dagger. His low whistle after the thud tells me I made the perfect shot.
"That is way hotter than it should be."
He says. I sigh and turn to pull the daggers.
"If you make one smart ass comment, that target will be your face in a matter of seconds."
His arms snake around my waist and he lays kisses along the bend of my neck. I close my eyes and hold onto my anger. I shrug him off, but he holds onto my waist tighter.
"Come on Talon, you can't be that mad at me."
I spin in his arms and give him a look.
"Or maybe, I could persuade to not be as angry at me."
His coy voice has me raising an eyebrow. His hands lower from my waist down to my ass. He hauls me up and smirks as I gasp.
"It's going to take a whole lot more than that."
I breathe out. His eyes go from slightly intrigued to savagely wild. He gently lowers me to the bed, and begins to unlace my boots.
"What are you doing?"
I ask. He gives me no answer as he finishes removing my boots.
"Bodhi, I'm supposed to be taking it easy."
His sly grin as he begins to undo my pants. He meets my gaze and yanks them off so swiftly, that it makes me laugh a little.
"You're not the one that's going to be putting in the work."
I lift my brow at him again.
"Maybe I start with a few kisses here."
He says before kissing my calf.
"Brush a kiss here."
He barely kisses my knee.
"Leave a mark here."
He bites my inner thigh and I lose it. I let out a shaky breathe as his head settles between my legs. He leans in just enough to tease me with his words.
"Maybe even a little snack here."
He flicks his tongue across my clit. A moan escapes my lips.
"You just sit back and relax."
As he begins to rock my world.
