After all the classes are over I head to take a bath. I definitely take my time and feel all my muscles begin to relax. I get out and wrap a towel around me I go and begin to change in the dressing rooms. I notice that it's strangely quiet in here tonight. I brush it off as I begin humming to myself.

I start with the band that wraps around my breast and my underwear. I go to pull on my pants as an arm snaps around my neck. I begin to fight but this man is taller than me by a long shot. Then another stands in front as he begins punching me. I evaluate his strikes and wait for the right moment. I quickly use my leg to kick off of him. This launches the one that has me in a head lock against the bench behind us. As his grip loosens I take off. I'm out the bathroom door and running down to the courtyard.

As I make it down the stairs I feel a dagger dig into my thigh. I drop to the ground and pull the dagger from my leg. As I see the two from the dressing room gaining on me I hop up and hobble to the court yard. I fling the doors open and the two men chase me out into the dark. The crisp October air hits my exposed stomach and shoulders.

One of the men grabs my hair and rips me down to the ground. He quickly drops down and begins to strangle me. I am fighting like hell but the other one holds my legs down. I hear the doors begin to fling open and screaming fills the courtyard.

'Kill him before he kills you!'

I hear rebel in my head as I start to see black in my vision. Quickly I feel a surge of red hot energy throughout my body. When it reaches my finger tips I reach out and feel something in my hands. I don't give it a second thought and plunge the item into the side of the man that sits over the top of me. His grip loosens and blood begins to seep from his mouth. His body falls to the side of me.

As I gasp for air I see another body tackle the other guy that was on top of me. I take in as much air as I can and begin to choke. An arm begins to touch me and I try to scurry away quickly. As I get a small distance away I look up to see Bodhi. His eyes are full of fear. I think he's saying something but my ears are ringing. I think I might have a concussion from hitting the ground so hard.

I shake my head gently and blink a few times. I look up to see Xaden and Bodhi looking at me. I begin to hear their voices in a muffled tone.

"Talon are you okay?"

I curl myself into a ball trying to hide all my exposed skin. Bodhi takes off his leather jacket and drapes it over my shoulders. Everything starts to sound normal again.

"What did I stab him with?"

Xaden and Bodhi look to each other before looking back at me.

"It appeared to be a dagger mad of light."

Xaden answers me and I furrow my eyebrows. I lift my palms and think for a second before I slightly twitch my fingers. A ball of light begins to twist around my fingers in unison with my movements.

"Talon I think you're a light wielder."

I grip the ball between my fingers and toss it into the air. It pops like a firework and I smile up at it.

"Shit your neck is already bruising."

Bodhi snaps. I reach my fingers to my neck and wince at the touch.

"Get her up to her room, we'll figure out everything else tomorrow."

I nod and Bodhi grips my waist letting me lean into him as we make it back up to my room. As Bodhi shuts the door and locks it he snaps his attention to me. He turns me and begins to examine the hole I have in the back of my leg.

"I think we need to get these pants off you and clean this up. You might need stitches."

He turns me back around gently.

"Do you need my help getting out of them."

I chuckle a bit and begin to slip the pants down. I never really got the chance to fasten them shut anyways. I place a hand on Bodhi's shoulder and grab them off my ankles one by one. As I look back up to Bodhi he stares at me with a ton of worry in his eyes.

"I know that wasn't the hottest thing in the world, and what I'm about to ask you probably isn't either."

I pull a small bag from one of the drawers in my desk. As I open it up I expose a suture kit and bandages.

"You think you can stitch me up?"

He chuckles and takes the suturing kit from me and walks beside me to the bed. I grab the antiseptic and pour it over the gash. I lay down on the bed with my stomach on the mattress. Once I'm situated correctly in front of Bodhi he begins cleaning the wound up with the cleaning wipe I hand him. He begins stitching shortly after.

"I think I might have a concussion."

"You probably do and that is why I will be keeping you company tonight."

Bodhi states. My grin stretches across my face quickly.

"What, am I not attractive to you anymore?"

He jokes as he finishes the last stitch he ties off the thread and places a wrap around my thigh. I flip over and Bodhi begins to lay down beside me.

"I don't think there will ever be a second that you wouldn't be the epiphany of perfect to me."

I begin and kiss his lips quickly. I pull back and wince at the movement.

"Take it easy Talon!"

He lectures. I suppress my smirk as I link our elbows together before flipping myself on top of Bodhi.

"Don't forget how lethal I really am."

He quickly smirks and flips me back down on the mattress. He pins my hands above my head.

"I will never forget that Talon, but don't forget that I will do anything to protect you."

He kisses me after he says this. Quickly he stops and traces his fingers on the bruises along my neck.

"I'm okay Bodhi."

He nods but his glance stays on my neck. I reach up and put my hands on either one of his cheeks. I raise his gaze to mine.

"I'm right here with you. I'm breathing and I'm fine."

He nods gently and I know what he's thinking.

"Bodhi I know you have experienced a lot of loss, so have I, but we have each other's back. Plus I have a kick ass dragon who will kill anyone that I don't myself."

'He needs to never forget that.'

I chuckle and Bodhi furrows his brows at me.

"Rebel said to never forget that."

He chuckles and moves to being beside me again.

"He surely likes everyone to know that."

I smirk and curl up to him. His arms wrap around me and I listen to his heart beat.

"Talon?"

"Yes?"

"How long has Rebel been channeling to you?"

I hesitate. I don't know that answer.

'He can relax. I have been channeling since this morning. You earned my trust and proved you could handle yourself on the flight field.'

I lift my head and look in Bodhi's eyes.

"He said since this morning. Why?"

"I thought I saw you do something else this morning than what you just did in the courtyard. Probably my mind just playing tricks on me. Lay down and get some rest. "

I put my ear back to his chest and I slowly hear his heart rate slow and I know he's asleep.

'I thought you said you hadn't had a rider before me.'

Bodhi's right I had done something different.

'That wasn't the truth.'

'Who was your rider Rebel?'

'Your great grandfather on your mother's side.'

'We can't tell anyone.'

'No we can't little warrior. Not even the rider who is beside you.'
