"Wooyoung...Wooyoung." a voice whispered out.

Wooyoung turned to his side and squinted his eyes open. A crack of light beamed in from the hallway as San stood by his doorframe, slowly opening the door.

"Hmm?" Wooyoung mumbled.

"I'm sorry. Are you awake?" San apologized, then continued walking into the room, closing the door behind him.

"It's okay. You can't sleep? Me neither." Wooyoung said, starting to sit up, pulling his legs to his chest.

San sat down on his bed next to him and asked, "Are you scared?"

"Fucking terrified."

The two chuckled for a moment. They then sighed. Wooyoung leaned forward and placed his hand on San's shoulder, slowly circling his thumb up and down.

"You know everything is probably gonna change tomorrow. New school, new people, senior year. It might sound dumb, but I wish they could be here for it." San said.

"I know you do and it's okay to think that. I have that same sinking feeling in my stomach that comes anytime I'm scared. But I think it's for the best. Everything will be okay, I promise." Wooyoung attempted to show a smile. His arm gently dropped off of San's shoulder as San stood up from his bed.

"Do you want to stay in here?" Wooyoung questioned.

"Nah, it's okay. I'm okay." San said as he made his way out the door.

Wooyoung laid back down, stared up at his ceiling and exhaled. Feeling a bit more relaxed, he was able to fall asleep. Around 7am the following morning, when the sun shined through his curtains, he opened his eyes again. As he sat up and looked to his side, he saw San, laying on the floor with a pillow and blanket, fast asleep.

Seacoast Academy, located on the beach, was an elite school where fortunate high school seniors were selected to train and learn. All students specialized as either an athlete or an artist. With an exception of the lucky few who receive scholarships, this boarding school's extreme tuition meant that most students came from wealthy backgrounds.

Wooyoung had a twin sister named Faye and their dad was the principle of Seacoast Academy. Their mom was the designer of a famous jewelry brand and combined with their family's overall wealth, the Jungs were essentially rich.

San grew up with them, but in the opposite conditions. His mom worked as the Jung's full time nanny and maid and lived in the guesthouse on their property alongside San and her late husband.

San's mom had always had some kind of drinking problem. She was manageable most times, but once her husband, San's dad, got sick, she fell past her point. San had to learn responsibility when he was very young, as he had to take care of his dad and his mom. His dad passed away when he was 11. A few years later, amidst her drunken state, his mom ran away and left San by himself. He was fortunate enough to go straight to a kind foster family in the neighborhood. Although they treated him well, he still spent most of his time with Wooyoung and Faye at their house. It was his home too.
