The next morning
Faye ran into an intensely white-lit room. Many girls who were scattered around the room all shifted their focus to her. Every girl was wearing tights and a leotard and an assortment of sweaters, sweatpants and warm up clothes. The girls were placed around the borders of the big room, at the ballet barres, stretching.
Faye had her long hair tucked into a messy bun, with many small hairs sticking out. She had her arm inside one sleeve of her purple sweatshirt, the other out, showing her black leotard underneath. She also had spandex on over her tights and looked like every other dancer in the room, apart from her messy hair.
She made her way to an empty spot of the barre, next to a familiar face.
"Hey Sumi, I didn't know you were in the dance program too," Faye said, slightly relieved.
"Was my hot bod not a big enough hint," Sumi joked, coming up to Faye, pinning her hair back, making it look a bit neater.
Hana on the other side of the room made a small comment. "Wow, I think she got the words dance and drink confused."
The surrounding dancers snarked along with her comment. Faye and Sumi just rolled their eyes and resumed stretching. Faye was especially annoyed that Hana had left their room that morning without waking her up. It wasn't Hana's job to make sure Faye was awake, but Faye thought that, if she knew they had the same class and she hadn't woken up yet, the nice thing to do would have been that.
An older lady wearing a long cardigan and reading glasses entered the room. Every student stood at attention and began curtsying towards the old lady's direction.
She situated herself in the front of the dance room and began looking around. She made eye contact with each girl before stopping at Faye.
"Faye, you look so old now," the woman kindly said, opening her arms.
Faye then ran towards her and joined her in an embrace. "Hi Miss Nari!"
Hana clenched her jaw and scoffed upon noticing their interaction.
When Faye was younger, Miss Nari was her dance teacher. She was good friends with her dad and started teaching dance at the Academy, once Faye went into secondary school.
After letting go of her sweet hug with the girl, the teacher then yelled, "Let's begin with a pirouette combination!"
Hana, once again, under her breath, made a comment. "Be careful ladies. During pirouettes, she might puke."
The few girls near her laughed again. Fortunately, Faye couldn't hear her and just made her way to an open spot on the floor.

During the students' lunch hour, Hongjoong sat in the school's large music room, repeatedly playing notes on the piano and humming. His delicate fingers danced along the keys and a beautiful, slow melody echoed through the room. He took breaks from playing to write on stacked sheets of paper, sitting above the keys, on the music desk.
