You sat at the border of the window, looking down onto the village that spreaded to the far desert. The dull beige tones of the buildings became a boredom, yet you couldn't pry your eyes away from it. It was like you were in a trance, forced to eye out every detail of the scenery.
'Tonight is the last night'
You remembered, after leaving Zoro in the garden, the people walking along the hallways whispering of it. The rumor that started it all and proved itself right. Tomorrow, was the day more Gods would visit you. You kept daydreaming of the outcome of it. Would they be as patient as Zoro ? Or as calm and quiet ? Maybe even bold ? The last one left you adventurous of what could happen, especially after experiencing how easy going Zoro was. Perhaps it was common for Gods to be so comfortable with each other's presence.
This whole situation was still a mystery. A mystery you were ready to dig into and unwrap it.
You flinched, startled by the sudden crowing of a bird. Looking around in the sky, you notice a silhouette approaching you. A smile formed on your face when you caught a glimpse of its feathery features.
'It came back again'
The big bird landed gracefully at the window sill after you moved your knees closer to your chest.
"Hello again" You giggled when it cawed back at you, softly this time. You brought a hand and the animal immediately moved closer for the touch.
The blue bird was none other than the bird you had freed when young. It seemed to have never aged, its black glistening eyes staring at you adorably. It was easy to tell you had fallen for this animal's cuteness.
"What news do you bring to me today, little one ?" You said, not expecting an answer back but a simple caw again.
It moved into the hollow space, nestling between your legs and stomach. You kept petting it while looking out again.
"It must be nice to be free again" You talked to no one in particular, but unbeknownst to you, the feathery animal paid close attention to each one of your words. "I wish I was like you...To be trapped within the walls of a so-called 'home'...how saddening it is in reality. I feel like I am missing out on so much, everything that life has to give." Your voice mumbled as you approached the end of your sentence, each word barely hearable. You tilted your head down to look at the bird sandwiched on you. "Perhaps... no, It's foolish, absurd even"
