Incomprehensible, impossible. That is what you told yourself, walking towards the main room of the temple. The walls of the hallway were covered in beautifully painted figures in a profile pose. You remembered the older women living within this confined place, telling you each of the stories the pictures represented. This made-believed history brought something new in your life, but this profound joy faded away when you began to mature. Childish stories, for those of weak mind and delusional emotions. For those whom still sought this 'new era', this paradise.

"Please tell me, where is it, that my dear Sister walks with such furious steps" The priestess whom had brought upon this news, caught up with unsure steps from behind you.

"I must know more and sought with my own two eyes the truth of this nonsense" You barked out coldly, making the poor girl behind your steps flinch.

"Have my words not sooth your mind, my dear Sister ? Such inexplicable arrival should be a thrill for you"

You halted in your march, turning to the smaller girl with a sour face.

"Is this not odd ?"

"Pardon ?"

"This supposed news feels wrong, and the lack of information makes it even more unbelievable" You leaned closer to her face, as her eyes looked down onto the ground with fear. "I will see the priest, must I choke this old dog of my bare hands, so be it"

The girl gasped from the vulgar words that left your delicate lips, but she did not dare stop you. And so, you march again to the main room, to hear the answer of your own ears.

"Sir, I come from rumours" You exclaimed, the enormous wooden doors resonated in the room. Your eyes burst in a hot blazing glare, suffocating those that stared too long into them. The many other residents gulped at the tension, and the priest told them to leave with a flick of his wrist.

"Rumours ? What insolent words do you speak of ?"

"Is it true what they say ?"

"Pardon ?"

"Are Gods truly coming to our land ?"

"So you have heard."

"aye." You had no time to waste, you needed to know. His eyes glued to yours, his wrinkly face sneered, a disgusting shiver running through your muscles and bones and all that makes you a living being.

"Chosen One, why such a cruel tone. Proud is what you should be feeling." He stepped forward, holding both hands into his. You tried to pry them off, but his hold was too strong. "We are free."

"Spare me" You spat, finally bringing your wrists to your chest "Am I the only sane thinker in this forsaken place ?" your voice raised higher, and each word faltered the man's smile.

"Stubborn has always been in your blood, god knows where you got it from, child" He stepped back towards one of the many tall windows that gave a view of the town and its pyramids.

"Are you insulting my bloodline ?"

"What bloodline ?" He shut you up, and you lost your composure for a second. "Must I remind you that you are nothing but an orphan, Child" He glanced down at the necklace that you wore and took care of it so carefully. "I would have refused taking you in that day, if it weren't for the Crane God's protection she gave you"

Silence lingered in the air, your shivering mind taking in every words he spilled with such venom.

"So I am a tool afterall" You talked quietly, your gaze finding the paving floor more interesting. You knew it yourself that was all your role was. A mere trophy for the eyes, nothing more. You weren't even seen as human to them, only an object. But to hear it from the words of the man whom raised you, gave you the miracle to read, count, and talk with wise words, left this bitter and unhappy feeling inside you. However it quickly turned into rage and you looked up to the man.

"Don't look at me like that, you shouldn't let those emotions leak out of you." He walked back to your form, grabbing your upper arm roughly. "As a Chosen One, you will keep playing your role and obey me, it is time you are thought into your place, lady"

For the first, you felt scared. Scared of this man. Then, it clicked. You never wanted this. If only, you told yourself, if only you had died with your parents.

"Now, go, dress in proper clothes, I will send some other woman to bath you" He pushed you to the door.

"Why must I, if I may ask ? I believed it was said they would arrive three moons from now"

"For our God of course, the one whom already lives in this land and so, does not need the tiredness travel. The one whom's feline beasts guard the front of the temple; The Tiger God 'Roronoa Zoro'"
