"Live well," Denzyl bid in farewell as he and Devyn watched Jun wave goodbye. "Let's not meet again!" Jun called back with a smile before turning and blending into the crowd of the space station. Jun's farewell caused Denzyl to chuckle under his breath as he watched Jun walk up to a security guard who immediately bowed upon seeing his prince.
"Think he'll be okay?" Devyn inquired quietly. "He went through a lot these past weeks."
Denzyl watched Jun join a group of guards who had been called to escort their prince back to the capital before answering, "He'll be fine. He's a strong kid."
The avex and his mate stood in silence for a short moment until they were joined by Etta and her nephew. "We'll be getting off here," Etta informed Denzyl as she and Han came to stand in front of the avex and human. "Thank you for everything." Etta and Han bowed their heads in gratitude while Denzyl replied, "Take care."
"You as well, Avex," Etta returned with a smile before turning to Han and leading him into the crowd of travelers to start their new life. After watching Etta and Han dissipate into the station, Devyn and Denzyl returned to the craft where Kilo and Castyr were waiting with the three surviving prisoners.
"What are your plans?" Denzyl inquired of the angel as Devyn took the pilot's seat and readied the craft for take-off.
Kilo pondered for a moment before looking at Castyr, who nodded with a small smile. After touching base with the star, Kilo turned back to the demon and human before answering, "We still need to lay low until the heavens give up on looking for Castyr."
Catching the angel's drift, Devyn smiled to himself before offering, "Earth will be the last place Heaven expects you to settle in. Denzyl and I could use the company, and I am sure Miren is dying to see you, too."
Castyr's ears perked up at Miren's name, and he smiled at Devyn before quietly inquiring about the human's health. "How is Miren?"
"How about you see for yourself?" Devyn proposed as he set the ship's next destination as Earth.

"Oh, my goodness!" Tears filled Miren's eyes as she saw Devyn, Denzyl, Castyr, and Kilo descend from the hovercraft and walk across the rooftop landing pad. "You're all okay!" Breaking into a quick jog, Miren ran toward the four men she had been longing to see. Taking Devyn into her arms, Miren checked the human all over to make sure he was okay.
"Hiya, Miren," Devyn greeted affectionately as he returned the woman's embrace. The emergency medical vehicles that had been called in advance quickly loaded the surviving prisoners and immediately transported them to the nearest hospital.
"Welcome home," Miren returned with wet eyes as she softly pet Devyn's head. Moving on to Denzyl and then Kilo and Castyr, Miren performed her duty of inspecting the four's condition before ushering them inside and whipping up a delicious meal. Castyr had remained silent, but his expression was light as he and Kilo helped Miren prepare the meal in the kitchen.
After finding out about Devyn's injuries, Miren ordered Devyn to sit and not do anything. He was on recovery watch and was not allowed to lift so much as a finger. And, naturally, Denzyl stayed by Devyn's side and did everything in his power to make his love as comfortable as possible during his recovery. This included joining Devyn in watching Miren scold Kilo for not cutting the onion the precise way she had instructed him to and laughing as Castyr caught his cooking glove on fire.
Banished from the kitchen, Castyr was ordered to join Devyn and Denzyl in watching the meal be prepared much to the star's dismay. Kilo smiled at Castyr's quiet pout from being kicked out before focusing on finishing up the meal according to Miren's precise instructions.
Kilo and Castyr retired early after dinner to catch up on their much-needed rest and to attempt to purify Castyr's energy as damage control following the star's blast and energy growing unstable. After filling Miren in on the details of the rescue mission, Devyn and Denzyl also excused themselves and found themselves reclining on the roof of the penthouse gazing at the stars peppered over the dark sky.
"It's all over...right?" Devyn whispered as he closed his eyes and leaned against the demon's strong body. Devyn inhaled deeply as he felt Denzyl's warmth seep into him, and he relaxed completely.
"Mm," Denzyl sounded in response. "It's all done."
The demon ran his fingers through the human's soft brown hair as Devyn said, "So, we can live in peace now."
"Mm," The demon agreed as he continued to cover the human with soothing love.
Denzyl and Devyn relaxed in peaceful silence until a curious thought entered Devyn's mind. The human tilted his head and furrowed his brows as he asked, "So, am I not going to age?"
Devyn's question caused Denzyl to smile slightly. "You will eventually, but it will be over the next thousand years and will be until you reach the peak in your body's strength. And you won't die, if you're curious about that, too."
Devyn nodded as he soaked in the information. So, as long as I keep myself healthy and don't get into any sticky situations, I'll be able to live by your side for years to come.
Denzyl wondered what the human was thinking about that caused Devyn to smile so suddenly. The demon's heart was light as he watched Devyn smile to himself and gaze up at the night sky. Denzyl thought back to all the trials and hardships he and Devyn had been through just to get to that moment, to finally sit beneath the stars and relax knowing that they would see the next sunrise together.
The blood, death, and tears had taken a toll on each of their emotional and mental health, but it was all worth it so long as Denzyl could freely proclaim his love for Devyn and watch every sunrise and sunset with his love safely in his arms. And so, the demon and human reclined in each other's embrace, awaiting the sun to dawn on their new life of peace together.
