Etta shifted uncomfortably as she leaned against the hull of the craft. Turning her head, the demon attempted to escape the piercing gaze Devyn was currently shooting toward her. The human leaned into the demon holding him before addressing Etta with, "Thank you." The words shocked Etta, and she turned to see Devyn still looking at her. "For not killing me, I mean," Devyn clarified. "I'm sure you were ordered to dispose of me. And seeing as you can make dendrum work for you, your marksmanship must have been good enough to snipe me at the range you had."

"Don't think too much into it," Etta warned. "I would do it again if I had to. I am not a good person."

"I'm sure your nephew would say otherwise," Jun interjected from the pilot's chair.

Etta blinked her vibrant green eyes as she became dumbfounded by Jun and Devyn's words. However, a solemn warning from Denzyl brought Etta's gaze to the avex holding his mate gently. "Don't think you will get the opportunity to hurt Devyn again." After a pause of silence, Denzyl added, "I'm sure your nephew wouldn't want you to die over something you could have avoided."

Bowing her head, Etta agreed with Denzyl's warning and took his words to heart.

"We're here," Jun informed the group, breaking the silence that had fallen.

Hearing Jun, Etta quickly deboarded the craft and raced toward the black spikes protruding from the planet's dark surface. Seeing the sharp formations that marked the prison's entrance sent chills down Devyn's spine as he was reminded of the blood and torture that resulted from his forced stay and forever scarred his memory.

Two gunshots could be heard within the prison following Etta's disappearance into the dark hole. Gently sliding out from behind the human, Denzyl set Devyn in one of the chairs behind the craft's control center. "I'll be back," Denzyl said to the human before leaning down and placing a kiss on Devyn's forehead.

"Be safe," Devyn said as Denzyl turned and exited the craft. Devyn tried to sit up straight to get a better view outside the hovercraft, but pain shot through his back with his every move, so he decided to remain where Denzyl had placed him. Kilo remained with Castyr, who was still unconscious, and Jun remained on the craft in case an emergency take-off was required. The three sat in silence as they watched Denzyl follow Etta into the prison.

The body of a single guard greeted Denzyl when he set foot into the dark prison. Stepping over the body, Denzyl advanced into the prison to see Etta frantically searching the cells. Grabbing the key from the guard's station, Denzyl began walking down the long hall and unlocking the cells that had living beings within. Bodies of slaves that did not make it through the night lay scattered on the floors of the cells with the surviving slaves staying curled up in the farthest corners.

The unlocking of the cells woke the surviving slaves, and they frantically rose to their feet as best they could before stumbling out of their prisons. A total of three slaves exited the cells while Etta continued to search for her nephew. Denzyl saw Etta run to the last cell before sinking to her knees.

"Han!" The female demon gripped the bars of the cell and called out her nephew's name as he lay on the ground unresponsive.

Hurrying over to the last cell, Denzyl unlocked it and rushed in to check on the human boy. "Han, Han, Hanni!" Etta called out to her nephew as Denzyl placed his fingers against the boy's neck to check for a pulse.

"He's alive," Denzyl informed Etta as he found a faint pulse.

"Thank Hades," Etta breathed in relief as Denzyl scooped Han into his arms and stood to his feet.

"But he needs treatment quickly. Round up the survivors and meet me at the craft," Denzyl told Etta as he stepped out of the cell and hurried down the hall of the prison.
