{King's Landing, 117AC}
"Shut up Jace, she'll hear us and you'll ruin it" Rhaenys Velaryon hissed at her brother as they carried a steaming cauldron, their little brother giggling behind them. After learning that their mother had given birth a third time, the three children ran to the dragonpit to choose an egg for their new sibling, accompanied by the good Knight Ser Harwin. The Knight strolled behind them with a small smile on his face, the sight of the children being so excited at the thought of a new brother or sister warming his heart. Harwin was known to be fond of Princess Rhaenyra, and he took it upon himself to care for her children when he could in the form of training the boys and watching over the young princess.
Luce opened the door to princess Rhaenyra's Chambers and let his older siblings go through. "Mother, look!" Luce announced. Jace and Rhaenys placed the cauldron on a table and opened the lid, revealing a fresh dragon egg. "We chose an egg for the baby" he carried on as Rhaenys walked over to her mother and kissed her cheek. "May I?" She whispered, and upon seeing a nod took the newborn into her arms. "That looks like the perfect one" Rhaenyra smiled. Jace puffed his chest out and shared a proud look with his siblings. "We let Luce choose". "Thank you Rhae" Luce giggled. "Not every day an egg leaves the dragonpit, Princess, I thought best to escort the children" Ser Harwin spoke up, catching Rhaenyra's eye. "Laenor and I thank you, Ser Harwin". Rhaenys kept her brother in a firm hold as she began to hum a Valyrian lullaby to him. "What's his name, father?" She asked Laenor, looking up at her father with adoring eyes. "Joffrey, sweet girl"
"Hello Joffrey, I'm your big sister Rhaenys. I'm going to look after you forever, I promise" Rhaenys whispered to her brother, smiling as Joffery stared with wide eyes. "Rhaenys, Ser Harwin wishes to be introduced to Joffrey '' Rhaenyra called out. "Of course mother" the young girl kissed Joffery's forehead and gave him to the Knight. Rhaenys walked back to where her brothers stood and held Jace's hand. The twins were at that age where holding hands could still be seen as sibling affection but bordered on unusual for an unbetrothed pair. "Father, may I please hold Joffrey?" Luce asked, peering up at Laenor. "No,no. No, it's back to the dragonpit for you three" the trio began to voice their complaints as Laenor began to lead them out of Rhaenyra's chambers.

{The Dragonpit, King's Landing}
Rhaenys stood off to one side with her uncle, Aemond, as her brothers and uncle Aegon continued their training. Like her, Aemond's egg from the cradle didn't hatch. But unlike his brothers and sister, he hadn't been able to claim a dragon either. "Call Vermax to heel, Prince Jacaerys" one of the dragon masters ordered. Rhaenys kept one eye on Jace as she and Aemond spoke. "On Dragonstone there's a lot of unclaimed dragons. Vermithor is in the dragonmont somewhere, there's Sheepstealer, Grey Ghost, even the Cannibal" Rhaenys said excitedly, and Aemond couldn't help but smile at his niece. No matter what pranks Aegon, Jace and Luce played on him, Rhaenys always stood on his side- even scolding her brothers at times. "Vermithor must be beautiful, the Bronze Fury" Aemond hummed in response, watching his nephew interact with his dragon.
"You must hold mastery over your dragon, my young princes. As Prince Aegon has with Sunfyre" at the praise, Aegon smirked at the boys. A younger dragonmaster came forward with a goat tied to a rope. Vermax twitched as they heard the goat bleating. "Can I say it?" Jace asked, looking to the older master. Receiving a nod of approval, Jace looked to his sister who gave him a nod and a thumbs up. "Dragonfire, Vermax!" The green beast hissed before releasing fire, engulfing the goat and beginning to eat.
Rhaenys clapped and cheered as she ran over to Jace, hugging him and ruffling his hair. "That was awesome, Jace! Soon you'll be bonded completely to them" She praised. Her pride was short-lived, however, as Jace pulled away and walked towards Aegon. "Aemond, we have a surprise for you" Aegon had that look on his face. The "I'm going to ruin your day" look he wore whenever he bullied Aemond or Rhaenys. Aemond looked at his brother suspiciously. "What is it?" Aemond and Rhaenys shared a look. "Something very special," Luce giggled.
"You're the only one of us without a dragon"
"Hey!"
"You don't count Rhae, and we felt badly about it, so we found one for you".
Rhaenys knew something was wrong. There were no unclaimed dragons in the dragonpit, she'd looked. Clearly she'd missed something because when she looked back to the group, Jace and Luce were bringing forth something. "Behold..."
"The pink dread!"
A pig.
They gave him a pig. A fat thing with fake wings strapped onto its sides.
The three boys laughed and made noises at Aemond as he glared at them. "Aemond..." Rhaenys started but was cut short as her uncle stormed past her. She turned to the boys and stared at them with a blank expression until the laughing stopped. "I hope you had your fun. How wonderful to know you feel more superior than your family simply because you have dragons" Rhaenys spat before spinning on her heel and following after her uncle. Luce looked down at his feet in shame as Jace simply looked at where his sister once stood.

{The Small Council Meeting, King's Landing}
Both Queen Alicent and Princess Rhaenyra had heard about the incident in the dragonpit, the former from Aemond and the latter from Rhaenys. Rhaenyra had given her sons a stern word and ensured they apologized to their uncle and sister. But as they sat in the meeting chamber, the tension between black and green was thick once more.
"It is Lord Blackwood's contention, therefore, that the Bracken's moved the boundary stones in the dead of night and put their horses to graze in his field" Lord Jasper complained, making Rhaenyra roll her eyes internally. She already knew what the queen would say. "Why was this issue not brought before Lord Grover? Has he grown so feeble that he cannot settle a quarrel over rocks?" Alicent rubbed her forehead. Small council meetings were exhausting and her husband wasn't exactly helping. "Well I've heard that Lord Grover's son now rules RiverRun in all but name" Lord Jasper continued on, not seeing the looks on everyone's faces. "Well he is also a Tully so this shall remain a Tully problem" Alicent sighed. "I would agree" the Lord finally said, allowing the matter to be solved. "If we may move on, my Lords" the queen began before being cut off.
"And yet the Bracken's and the Blackwood's will use any excuse to spill each other's blood. So this dispute bears looking into" Rhaenyra stated, looking past the queen to Lord Jasper. "Lord Tyland?" Alicent spoke up, purposely ignoring Rhaenyra's input. Letting out a sigh, the Princess attempted to zone out whilst still listening to the important state affairs.
"Let us be finished" King Viserys said weakly, moving to stand. The Lords agreed but soon stopped as Rhaenyra zoned back in. "Wait, I wish to speak" She looked at Alicent determinedly. As everyone sat back down, Rhaenyra and Alicent stood. "I have felt the ... strife... between our families of late, my queen. And for any offense given by mine, I apologize. But we are one house, we are the house of the dragon" Rhaenyra stopped to take a breath and Alicent raised a brow. "My daughter Rhaenys will inherit the Iron Throne after me, I propose we betroth her to your son Aemond. Ally ourselves once and for all, let them rule together"
Alicent was stunned. However she knew her son was fond of his niece, as she had never been cruel to him. It wouldn't be the worst match, she thought. King Viserys chuckled. "A most judicious proposition, one which we heartily accept. Aemond and Rhaenys will be wed" he accepted and placed his hand on Rhaenyra. "Additionally, if Syrax brings forth another clutch of eggs, Aemond will have the first pick. A, uh, a gesture of our goodwill" Rhaenyra could see the glare Alicent threw at her, but she was talking only to her father.
