Hello! This is a story I had to do that was inspired by a picture of the coast. Hope you like it, comments are very welcome. Thank you!!

The water breaking and smashing onto the rocks filled my ears. The stumps and stacks out in the sea were surrounded by glistening water. The wind pulled at my hair as it rushed past me. I smiled and turned my back on the ever-growing waves, intending to climb the lighthouse to get to higher ground.

"Amanda!" A voice shouted over the calming sound of waves eroding the cliff faces. In the corner of my eye, I could see my little sister Tina climbing the rocks trying to get to me. I continued walking to the lighthouse, for it was time to relax.

"Amanda! We have to go home, now, or else we will be swept away by the backwash of the high tide!" Tina called out to me, her hands around her mouth so that her voice came out louder. I stopped, confused and called back to her,

"How do you know about backwash and high tides?Your only in Year 4!"

She laughed, a clear and beautiful sound that traveled on the wind towards me.

"Come on Amanda! Mum and Dad are worried,"

I sighed and started to trudge towards Tina, casting glances back towards the lighthouse. In my mind, I thought, 'Someday, the lighthouse is going to be mine and I will be able to climb it whenever I want.' Looking back to my sister, I added, 'Just not now.'
