When she found out that she was assigned to interview Harry Styles, a famous musician and heartthrob, for the magazine she worked for, Y/n's heart skipped a beat.
Of course, to her, Harry was more than just a musician. He'd been Y/n's childhood best friend until they were sixteen when Harry's fame reached new heights. They'd grown up together. Though Y/n was sure that that title no longer applied as they hadn't seen each other in years, she would always view Harry as her childhood best friend. The kind, young boy who'd sit next to her at lunch, innocently chat her ear off about nonsense and play with her at recess when no one else would.
She was worried that Harry wouldn't even recognize her, especially since he had become a grown man since the last time they saw each other.
She tried to remain professional and objective during the interview by asking Harry questions about his career. Still, as the interview progressed, she couldn't help but notice how Harry kept gazing at her. She tried to brush it off, thinking that it was just because he was being polite.
Suddenly, during the interview, Harry called Y/n by her childhood nickname, and her heart skipped a beat. "You remember me?" she asked, incredulous. Harry smiled at her, gazing into her eyes. "How could I not, love?" he replied softly. Y/n's heart swelled with joy at the realization that Harry remembered her.
After the interview, Harry turned to Y/n and asked, "Hey, what are you doing after this?" Y/n's heart raced at the question. She had no plans, but she didn't want to seem too eager.
"Um...I didn't originally have plans," She replied shyly.
"Well...wanna make plans with me? We should catch up," Harry said with a dazzling smile.
Y/n couldn't say no to those sparkling eyes and that charming smile. She agreed, and the two spent the rest of the afternoon catching up on old times and reconnecting.
