Chapter 13

Elf kingdom

Lunacrest had been relaxing since Korvald had gone back to the dragon kingdom for a bit, she was sitting at the edge of the lake with her feet in the water. Brielle was close by laying down in her Dragon form, Lily was out on the water practicing her magic as usual. She motioned for Lunacrest to join her, the princess chuckled softly as she stood up, brielle listed her head watching the girl closely.
"Come on Lunacrest!" Lily called out.
"Alright, alright, I'm coming!"

Lunacrest had a running start before taking a huge jump, she used her magic to make a board of ice under her that seemed too race across the water. Brielle immediately got up watching her as if she was about to fall in, the dragon knew that the water was to cold for either of them to be on it. Lunacrest raced after Lily splashing her with cold water, Lily laughed softly and splashed her back.

"Your learning quickly lunacrest." Lily said to her.
"You haven't seen anything yet."
Lunacrest suddenly dropped into the water going underneath it quickly, brielle took off roaring and hovered over them watching. Lunacrest came out again with what looked like an armor made of ice, her teeth chattered loudly as she shivered from the cold. Brielle narrowed her eyes and wrapped her claws around Lunacrest and flew back to the shore with her.

Lily chuckled softly and followed behind them, the icy armor started to melt immediately as brielle landed and wrapped around Lunacrest trying to warm her up.
"You stupid child! You'll catch a cold!" Brielle scoffed at her.
"S..s...sorry." She said threw chattering teeth.
Lily started up a small fire to help warm them up from the cold.
"Why do you have to make it so difficult for me to watch you?"
"I don't do it on purpose."

Brielle narrowed her eyes and flicked her tail at Lunacrest, the princess hugged quietly as she leaned back into the dragons warm scales. Brielle sighed softly shaking her head before laying it back down.
"You should probably start listening to her Lunacrest, we don't want you getting sick before the battle."
"I thought I asked you not to mention that Lily, you know how I feel." Lunacrest said quietly, as she looked down at the ground.

"Sorry, I forgot." Lily replied
"Why do you not want to talk about it?"
Lunacrest didn't look at the dragon or even to Lily, she let out a soft sigh.
"I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I can do it.... I mean, he's my uncle....."
"Your uncle who killed your parents Lunacrest." Lily interrupted her. "It's not fair what he did to you, yea he's your uncle but in the end he's going to try and kill you."
Lunacrest finally looked up at her, a sad kind of look in her eyes but yet she nodded.
"In the end, it's either me or him...... your right."
Lily put a hand on one of hers and squeezed it gently.
"Your my friend Lunacrest and I care about you, I don't want to lose you."
"We should get her back to the castle and into some warm clothes."
Lily nodded and helped Lunacrest up onto her feet, brielle shifted back into her human form and walked along with them. The trail was quiet but luckily it was still light out, the three walked in silence for a bit before Lunacrest finally let out a sign breaking the awkward silence between them.

"When's Korvald coming back?" She asked
"I don't know Lunacrest, in a few days?" Brielle responded
Lunacrest nodded softly as they went silent again, they soon made up to the palace taking the back way in to avoid the villagers. Brielle stood guard at Lunacrest's door as her and Lily went inside, Lily waited on her bed as she had gone to change into something warm. When Lunacrest came back out she smiled softly, Lily motioned her over as she picked up a brush.

"Come here."
Lunacrest sat in front of Lily letting her brush her hair out, Lunacrest sighed softly as she let her.
"What's wrong?" Lily asked her.
"I just, I feel empty inside for some reason."
"Like your missing something?"
Lunacrest nodded softly as Lily started too braid her hair, putting it up in an elvish style.
"Maybe.... Maybe your missing love?"
"Love? You think I miss Mason don't you?" Lunacrest asked, looking back at her.
"I mean, the two of you were together for a long time."
Lunacrest got up and walked to the window in her room, she pushed it open looking outside.
"I mean, I miss him yes but I just left with only a note to give him lily..... he probably hates me."
"You don't know unless you talk to him."
Lily took Lunacreast's hands into her own.
"I bet he'll understand."
