My trust in love was always sincere
But is this something I may ever get to experience here?
Where could he be that I can't reach him?
Or is this nightmare the love I'll never experience?

Aarthi POV

"YOU!"

"Yes me!😁. I know you missed me, but don't scream like that. God, my poor eardrums. Also, don't come and hug me like a kola. People are watching and thinking about informing the zoo officers about the missing monkey," he said.

"What the!! Why are you even here, and who said I missed you? You weren't even invited? Just a moment, did you just refer to me as a monkey? You donkey-face idiot. Why didn't you notify me that this donkey would be here, Gayatri? I never would have been here in the first place." I spat out.

"Oh hello! You are merely her friend; therefore, the only reason I am sparing you, so you better watch your tongue before I kick you out. I am her fiancé, and I am far more invited than you are." Gautham spoke.

The audacity of this man to kick me out—and did he just call me a mere friend? That's it; he's going to die today. Yes,Gautham (Gayatri's fiancé), with whom I have been bickering for the past 3 minutes. I didn't know he would be here; otherwise, I would definitely not be here😒.

"Gayatri, look nah how he's talking to me, and did you hear him say I am just a mere friend of yours? Inform him of your priorities and let him know where he fits in." I gave Gautham a tongue-jerk, and he gave it right back shamelessly.

"Gayu —

"Stop talking, you two. You two are arguing with one another rather than calming me down, and I am already anxious about meeting my in-laws. I kept it a secret from you, Aarthi, since without you I would never have dared to come here and choose the clothes and jewelry. You select the finest. Gayatri remarked. I smirked towards Gautham, showing his place.

Aarthi - 1, Gautham - 0

"But Gayu-Gayatri interrupted Gautham once more. "Remember that I told you not to agitate her prior, Gautham? Your parents are waiting for us inside, for heaven's sake."

My smirk widened as she glared at Gautham, cautioned him to get inside the mall before they came out for us, and dared him to talk about our friendship at any time. Hehe, Gautham's face fell😏😏.

Aarthi - 2, Gautham - 0

Together with Gautham, we three began entering the mall and hurling daggers at one another while attempting to calm a tense Gayatri.

We soon got to meet Gautham's parents. We went shopping after Gayatri introduced me to her in-laws, who are really nice parents, though I'm not sure if Gautham is their biological son. I wasn't able to meet them during the engagement. After spending five hours shopping, Gautham's parents bought everything they needed to give the bride, taking into account her preferences. Naturally, I chose the majority of the items.

(Being a Telugu wedding, our custom is for the in-laws to gift the bride both during their engagement and marriage. Typically, the bride receives gifts directly from her in-laws. These days, though, they either take the bride shopping or give her money to spend however she pleases.)

{Spare me if I write any tradition wrong. I am not going to delve deeply into the rituals and process even for our main lead's wedding because, despite being from Andhra Pradesh (the state of Telugu), I do not know every single detail of the wedding customs. I am only familiar with the majority of the main customs. Thus, pardon my errors, as this is a fictional work.}

I'm very hungry right now; its past lunch time. I was running late for today's agenda, so I skipped breakfast altogether. We are sitting in the restaurant right now because Gautham managed to get his parents to go home somehow so he could spend some time with Gayatri.

I hate being the annoying third wheel, but I am really itching to get out of this restaurant because the food is so good. The waiter arrived to take the order at that exact moment.

"Mutton Biryani"
"Chicken Biryani"

At the same moment, Gautham and I said:. I squinted at him, and we were about to exchange words. Gayatri ordered the waiter to bring both along with three thums up, not having the energy to hear both of us bicker.

In just five minutes, the waiter delivered our food, and we started to eat. Suddenly, I flinched, and Gayatri ate her food as if she had not heard Gautham yelling at Ekansh over the phone, with whom he had been conversing for two minutes.

"Hey donkey, lower your voice. You are in public. What are you screaming so loudly that you do not even care where you are?" I spoke up

He cut his phone and threw it on the table. "It seems like you are enjoying your friend's wedding," he said, looking away.

What had come over him so quickly? He's obviously upset right now. This Gautham doesn't appeal to me; I want that irritating Gautham back.

When I nudged Gayatri to ask her what was up, she spilled the tea and told me that Pranav and Ekansh, two of his closest friends, faced problems with a project and weren't sure if they would be able to make it to the wedding.

Well, if my friends do not attend my wedding, I would be really disappointed. Just so that Rohan will not be in a foul mood, I hope his friends attend at least on the wedding day. After Gayatri calmed Gautham down a little, we went back to our homes.

I heard of a guy named Ekansh; is he going to be like my Wattpad main lead? I mean, I have read a lot of love stories with that name, so yeah😁, stop daydreaming, Aarthi, and go to bed; you have more work to do tomorrow. And I slouched down on the bed, grinning as I remembered his name one more time.

I apologize for any errors in grammar. Please let me know if I am writing long paragraphs or pointless details when they are not needed. Our leads will eventually cross paths very soon.
