Chapter 24

My heart beats fast at the sight of you,

Third person POV

Ekansh sat nervously in front of his laptop, his heart pounding with excitement and anticipation.

He and Aarthi were going to formally announce their engagement to their friends on this day. He looked at the time as he awaited the moment when all of the participants would join the video call.

He was eager to see how they would respond. Because he is well aware that they will kill him.

However, Aarthi is also anxious because she believes her friends would kill her. They have always exchanged every smallest detail. She didn't share the most important decision of her life, thus they will kill her.

Ekansh pressed the "Start Call" button as the scheduled hour approached, and he watched tensely as his friends' well-known faces appeared on the screen. He grinned and said, "Hey guys!" while attempting to control his excitement.

"Hey Ekansh, what's up?" Pranav asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Yeah, why are we all suddenly on a video call? Are you in Vijayawada again?" Gautham chimed in, looking a bit puzzled.

Ekansh chuckled nervously, trying to play it cool. "Oh, nothing much, just wanted to catch up with everyone. And yes I'm in Vijayawada."

Aarya raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "Really? You couldn't have just texted us for that."

Raj, always one to jump to conclusions, exclaimed, "I bet he's got some big news to share!"

Ekansh's heart skipped a beat as he struggled to maintain his composure. "Well, actually, you're right, Raj. I do have some news to share..."

"Wait, why isn't Aarthi in call? Why didn't you add her?"Aarya jumped in between cutting Ekansh.

The anticipation in the virtual room was palpable as Ekansh took a deep breath and locked his eyes with Aarthi and dragged her beside him holding her wrists, so that she's also visible to everybody.

Gayatri's eyes widened with excitement. "Oh my God, are you guys finally together?"

"So, this is the reason why you rushed from Bangalore to Vijayawada twice leaving important project. Well played man," Pranav said folding his hands to chest.

Ekansh couldn't help but smile at their reactions. "Yes, you got it! Aarthi and I are getting engaged!"

Gautham whooped in excitement, while Aarya and Raj cheered loudly. "Congratulations, man! That's amazing news!" Gautham exclaimed.

Pranav grinned mischievously. "So, when's the big day? Don't tell me you're going to make us wait for another year!"

Ekansh chuckled, shaking his head. "Nah, nothing like that. The engagement is going to be in 2 weeks."

Gayatri clapped her hands excitedly. "I can't wait to start planning the engagement party!"Aarya smirked, teasingly. "Let's hope you don't turn into a bridezilla, Gayatri."Everyone laughed, the joy and excitement contagious even through the screen.

As the conversation turned to discussing potential venues and themes for the engagement party, Ekansh couldn't help but feel full he got the girl of his dreams, parents and friends who support him. Their support and enthusiasm made this moment even more special.
