With each beat, it whispers clues
Guiding me on the path I must choose
For logic, reason can only take me so far
But my heart reveals who I truly am

In Aarthi's bedroom

Aarthi paces back and forth in her room, her expression torn with indecision. She pauses, staring out the window at the passing clouds, lost in thought.

Aarthi's outfit

Aarthi: (to herself) What do I do?

When Aarthi goes to the kitchen to get some water, she runs into her mother. She knew without a doubt that if she picked up a conversation, it would turn into a conflict.

She proceeded to her bedroom in silence, taking a bottle of water, but unfortunately, her mother approached.

"So? What do you say?" Her mother, Meena, asked.

"About?" Aarthi questioned her mother, definitely knowing what her mother was implying.

"Don't try to act smart in front of me, Aarthi. You definitely know what I was talking about." Meena retorted.

"Ma, I need more time." Aarthi whispered slowly.

"Aarthi, it's been a week. You always seem to run away from situations instead of facing them head-on. You avoid making decisions, whether it's about your personal life or your career." Meena is visibly disappointed, not even trying to hide it.

Aarthi shifts uncomfortably in her place. " I-I don't know what you're talking about, Ma."

Meena shakes her head, her frustration mounting. "Don't play dumb with me, Aarthi. It's about time you started taking responsibility for your actions. You can't keep running away from your problems forever."

Aarthi's shoulders slump, her guilt palpable. "I-I know, Ma. But it's just... I'm scared."

"We're all scared, Aarthi. But that's no excuse to avoid making decisions altogether. You have to learn to face your fears, or they'll consume you." Meena tried to sympathize with her daughter but her principal demeanor didn't help Aarthi understand her mother.

This communication gap has always been there, which created a gap between the mother-daughter duo.

" I-I haven't made up my mind yet, Ma." Aarthi stuttered.
