You were in junior high when you first met Tokage.
You'd seen her around school, it was hard to miss her with that pink dyed hair of hers and her rather eccentric and flashy clothing, but you never spoke.
You had no friends, none in school anyways, with the exception of the trio who you had stepped in to rescue. They followed you around like ducklings, and you acted like they were a nuisance. In reality, you liked the company.
You met Tokage through Uemura, the boy having dragged you to a volleyball game at another school. It was there that you first really spoke to her, teaming up to beat up a bunch of idiots who had been harassing some kid and eventually Tokage after she'd stepped in.
You didn't see her after that, but her smiling face as she put little bandaids on the cuts upon your knuckles had remained in your mind up until you met again.
Sure, it was a little rude to treat her the way you did back when she first greeted you the day of your arrival to class 1-B, but you didn't have much of a choice.
Well— you did.
The other available option was just wayyy too scary and socially demanding to be chosen at the moment. In truth, you really did hold some admiration for your classmate. She was sociable, made friends easily, and was just someone anyone would be happy to get along with.
You watched with a little look of surprise as your classmate, who was supposed to be fighting that Support Course girl, happily put on a little show advertising her inventions.
Tokage seemed to be having fun, and she didn't seem the slightest bit upset when that Support Course girl thanked her and the audience for their time before marching off the field with a proud look, thus making Tokage the winner.
"Well. That was anticlimactic." Tsuburaba remarked while Awase nodded his agreement. Kaibara, Kodai, and Shiozaki didn't disappoint, though.
In his match against Fukidashi, Kaibara really showed how much he'd improved with Saihara's guidance. Yourself and the rest of your little training group were excited to see Kaibara's amazing display of new strength, but Saihara was undeniably the most hyped.
"YEAHHHHHH!!!!" you cringed upon hearing the third year's booming shout when Kaibara punched Fukidashi so hard he went flying out of the ring.
"Kaibara proceeds to the next round!" Midnight announced, her voice barely heard over Saihara's celebrating in the stands while Kaibara helped a dazed Fukidashi back to his feet.
In the following match, Aware ran off the field screaming to avoid being crushed by a super sized toy car Kodai threw at him and looked immensely embarrassed as Tsuburaba laughed his 🍑 off at him upon his return. Kodai took a while to return since she had to give the toy car back to the kid who had leant it to her for the match, but she was immediately greeted with excitement from the rest of your class.
In a satisfying turn of events for Awase, he got the chance to laugh at Tsuburaba after the boy got thrashed by the 1-A kid with tape dispensers for elbows.
"Look at him, he looks like a mummy!" Tokage laughed hysterically as that Sero kid helped untie a miserable looking Tsuburaba, Awase filming from where he stood.
"He ended that match so quick..." you murmured, "He captured and incapacitated Tsuburaba in an instant without actually hurting him. It's a simple way to handle someone, but effective..."
"Are you going to start nerding out?" Kodai inquired and you pursed your lips, looking away. "Nah. Thinking."
You were feeling a little antsy about the upcoming matches, but your main concern was that 1-A kid who just wouldn't stop staring! Geez, what was his problem?!
