Chapter - 28

[Amar was having a hard time digesting all the information.]

[He was calm to whoever would look at him, but his mind was far from relaxed.]

[He didn't go after HM but that didn't make him less worried about her.]

[AJ was interrogating Karn along with DJ and MS was set on finding more information about the connection between Anubhav and Haseena in this case.]

[Anubhav is the one name that circles AV's mind but his thoughts were nowhere similar to what others were thinking.]

[He didn't make any assumptions, he just thought of what could have hurt HM to the intent that she left the thana like that.]

[What could've happened that she was suffering.]

[His thoughts, however, didn't last long when HM and KS returned back to the thana.]

KS - Sir kuch pata chala?

[KS initiated the conversation hoping no one would shower HM with questions.]

[HM was standing with KS, a stern look on her face.]

[When AV entered the area, he gave a serious look to everyone, taking pause at DJ, warning him not to say anything.]

AV - Haan bas Aarushi Jain Karn se baat kar rahin hain, I am sure unhe kuch to valuable mil hi jaayega.

[AV then looked at HM and though her face was clear of every emotion, AV could see the underlying pain.]

AV - Haseena ji

[Every eye including HM's turned to AV and everyone thought he was gonna address Anubhav's name when he continued.]

AV - Hume lagta hai ki bache hue students ke bharose baith kar abhi planning karenge to koi fayda nahi hai. Instead jin students ko Saurabh already convience kar chuka unki information se hi aage ka plan execute karte hain.

[HM gave a grateful nod to AV for not bringing up the photo topic in front of everyone]

HM - Ofcourse, bas ek baar Karn se details pata chal jaayen phir dekhte hain.

[A little while later, everyone was back to the storage area]

[MS handed the rest of the details of Anubhav to AV but he didn't read or acknowledge them there.]

[When AJ entered, they started discussing the case.]

AJ - Agar Karn ki maane to envelope ke contents ke baare me to use nahi pata tha lekin haan Haseena ka iss case se jo connection hai wo iss envelope ki wajah se hi hai.

[HM stiffened at hearing this]

DJ - Itni der me bas itna hi pata chala?

[AJ looked at DJ and continued]

AJ - Nahi, maine wo jo dusra admi, jise aapne arrest kiya hai, usse bhi baat kii thin.

KS - Naam ka hai uska?

AJ - Naam se kya karna hai aapko?

KS - Na matlab aap itni der me naam nahi pata kar payin to information sahi hai ki nahi ye kaise pata hoga.

[HM interrupted KS]

HM - Karishma Singh. Haan to kya pata chala Aarushi Jain aapko?

AJ - Ye contract basis pe kaam karta hai. Jo parcel isse milta hai use deliver karne ke baad iska kaam wahan khatam ho jaata hai.

AV - To matlab parcel kiska hai kya hai ye sab to ise bhi pata nahi hoga.

AJ - Nahi

DJ - Arre lo. Hum to phir wahin wapis aa gaye jahan the. Kya fayda hua.

AJ - Ye illegal parcels deliver karta hai at least ek criminal to pakad me aa gaya.

KS - Haan lekin filhal ye humare kaam ka nahi hai.

AJ - Lekin isse chod nahi sakte.

AV - Choda kahan hai humne. Lockup me hai to sahi.

AJ - Haan lekin Amar iski charge sheet nahi bani hai. Aise hum isse lockup me nahi rakh sakte.

DJ - Lekin charge sheet banane ke liye to parcel ka evidence dena padega.

[With that statement, every eye shifted to HM once again.]

AV - Wo nahi kar sakte hum.

AJ - Kyu nahi kar sakte?

AV - Kyuki yahan se koi bhi baat bahar jaane ka matlab hai humare plan me loopholes hona.

[AJ was clearly enraged hearing AV's accusation.]

[She rose up from her seat and said.]

AJ - Great, mujhe laga tha aap intelligent hain lekin clearly aapke personal interests iss case ko jyada influence kar rahe hain.

[AJ glanced briefly at HM with the word 'personal interests']

AV - Ho sakta hai, lekin again ye case bhi main lead kar raha hu aur ye thana bhi mere under me aata hai.

[AV's expressions remain calm and never once did he even glance at HM to confirm AJ's accusations.]

AV - Aap yahan sirf isliye hain kyuki isme aapka fayda hai Aarushi Jain.

[AV stood up as well.]

AV - Abhi bhi most evidences apko guilty saabit kar rahe hain. Hum to easily aapko guilty dikha ke ye case band kar sakte hain lekin pata hai aisa abhi tak kyu nahi hua?

[AV waited for AJ to answer but when she didn't he continued.]

AV - Kyki har jagah logic kaafi nahi hota, kabhi kabhi jazbaat bhi zaruri hote hain.

[KS and DJ's eyes went wide while HM's face was still blank]

AV - Agar logically dekhen to galti to aapki bhi hai itni irresponsible apni vardi ko leker aap kaise ho sakti hain.

[AV then turned toward Saurabh]

AV - Aur ye, chaliye maan liya ki loan ka problem hai ya financial issues the lekin saath to inhone criminal ka hi diya hai. Ye bhi kam criminal nahi hain.

[AJ tried to say something but AV interrupted her]

AV - Nahi Aarushi Jain. Apni galti ko aap jitna define karna chahti thin kar chuki ab sirf ek mauka hai aapke paas apne aap ko sahi saabit karne ka. Ab aap decide kar lijiye aapko blame game khelne hain ya actually thodi bahut duty bhi karni hai.

[The room was completely silent even DJ didn't give a comment]

[AJ left the room along with Saurabh and KS and DJ followed them.]

AV - Malika Sharma.

MS - Yes sir?

AV - Rani ke relatives ki poori details mujhe chaiye.
