Chef was a really good cook. He helped cook the food in our schools cafeteria. He cooked food for parties. He was on his way to becoming a famous highschool chef until he cooked one wrong meal.

It was my mom's wedding. It was coming up in a week and we couldn't afford some top notch chef but we needed a good one quick.

So who better to ask than a good friend who just happens to be a great chef. Good food at a discount sounded great to me. We had everything planned out. All of the meals were perfect.

We'd even had a taste test on the eve of the wedding. Then, Chef found out who my mom was marrying. His name was Jim. He was a swell guy. It was his daughter who Chef had problems with.

They'd dated before and he dumped her because of a scar on her face. He claims to have nightmares of her being a monster who eats him.

I told him that was crazy and there was nothing to worry about. I told to just simply not look at her.

He had a look of terror on his face which slowly changed to satisfaction. "Okay, you're right. I just won't look at her. " He says suspiciously.

So there I go. Thinking everything is going to be fine. We have a chef, we have music and flowers. Beautiful colors all around. Everything was fine.

It's now the day of the wedding. Music plays sweetly as children play and people chat. Then it's time.

My grandpa was not there to walk her down the aisle so I did. She was beautiful and just so happy. Happier than she had been in a long time.

We go through the vows and all. The groom kisses the bride. People cheer and clap blah blah blah. Now it's time for food.

Everyone is cheerful. Eating and laughing. Complimenting the meal.
Oh what a feast! Then the poor girl with the scar starts choking.

She can't breathe. Everyone is freaking out and she is rushed to the hospital. The happiness is gone. The laughter has faded. The wedding is ruined. Smiles have been wiped from everyone's faces except for one, Chef.

I knew he didn't like her but I didn't know he would go so far as to poison her. Although their vows were already spoken, the wedding didn't seem complete.

It was supposed to end with the cutting of the cake and a 2 hour dance party. Instead it ended with someone in the hospital. A girl. An innocent girl.

Chef wasn't going to get away with this. I went to school the next day and locked us in a room. I reenacted the entire wedding, except I did it the way it was supposed to go, ending in happiness and joy.

He was tied up and confused. He poisoned her garlic shrimp. So I decided to go to the culinary room and bring back some oil and garlic.

I threw it all over him, and pulled out my lighter. It was over now. Everything was over now. But not just for my mom or her new husband or his poor daughter. Not just for Chef.

Everything is over....
