There Back! | Chapter 2

As Mikasa, Eren, and I walked up the dirt path as we were walking somewhere, I totally forgot.

"Eren, Y/n... You should let the Scout Regiment thing go." Mikasa said as she looked down.

"Seriously!? Why do people think there a joke! Tell her Y/n." Eren asked in a loud tone.

"The Scouts are so cool. My mom said that Captain Erwin and Captain Levi are really good, and people don't even respect them. They save us every day, but we never give them credit..." I sighed as I thought about it. No one ever tells them thank you. That's probably what they want.

"See! Y/n understands!" Eren said knowingly he pointed to me in shock.

Before Mikasa could respond, she was cut off by the loud bells, telling us that the Scouts were back.

"Perfect timing, there back! If we hurry, we can make it in time." Eren said in excitement as he grabbed Mikasa's hand and led her down in a hurry.

"Last one there gets to have my 'beyond the walls book all that week." I said loudly as I ran down the hill fastly.

"That's not fair. You got a head start!" Eren yelled as he chased after me.

Once I got down the hill, I saw a whole bunch of people already watching, I tried jumping, but I was too short to see or look through.

"Y/n, over here." Eren said as Eren stood on a create, telling me to come see everything.

I go on the create as I stand on my tiptoes, but I still couldn't quite see. "I can't see my mom..."

"Here. Get on my back." Eren offered as he put rhe sticks down next to him as I goton his back to see, this was definitely much better.

I pointed so Eren could see. "Look, it's Erwin!" I said happily as Eren looked at him with a big smile on his face.

Erwin didn't look happy he looked away from us like he was guilty in every way possible.

I looked behind him to see a bunch of soldiers, they where terribly injured almost everywhere. They didn't look at anyone while they passed. I looked to see a soldier holding onto my mom while she was limping to catch up with everyone.

I got down from Erens back as I pushed aside the people that were in front of us.

"Mom! Mom..." I stopped as I looked down at her that was bandaged, and it looked pretty bad.

"Oh, hi, Y/n..." She looked down at her leg in shame. "Hey, I'm fine, don't worry."

She gave me a small smile as she kept walking as they girl held onto her hip so she wouldn't fall.

A man pushed me back, making me fall to the floor. "Get back, kid!" The guy yelled, Eren helped me off the floor as he gave the man a death glare.

"Come on, Y/n." Eren brought me back on the create as we saw them stop abruptly.

"Moses, Moses? Beg your pardon. Where is my son? He should be with you." An old lady said as she looked around, stopping the soldiers in their tracks.

I couldn't hear that much anymore but saw the man handing the old lady something inside a wrapped cloth. Once she opened, she was struck to see an arm infront of her she quickly covers it as she falls to the floor in dispare.

"I'm sorry that was all that was left of him..." The man said as he looked away from her destroyed face.

"H-he did good, yes? He was brave? Tell me my son stood his ground till the bitter end. Did his death need something! Tell me he gave us a better chance!" She yelled as tears streamed down her eyes.
