How shall I describe thee?
shall I compare thee to the sun,
filling others with warmth with your presence,
beautiful, yet seemingly out of reach,
and, if someone is not careful, can be dangerousEyes like prized jewels,
oceans of emotion, thoughts
yet, despite that,
I could get lost in them for hours.Lips as soft as a pillow,
as pink as a fresh pink rose,
lips that I could kiss for hours,
only reluctantly pulling away for airMy dear,
the day you became my sunshine,
was a day I will forever remember,
it is ingrained into my memory,
every second, every minute I am with you,
every second, every minute I am apart from youYou shine your light upon myself,
as well as others,
brightening their day just as you brighten mine,
your generosity helps those in need,
although, sometimes,
people take advantage of thatWhen they do, it fills me with rage,
although you smile in front of others,
I can see your pain,
I can hear your sobs you try to muffleYet, I try my best to once again lift your spirits,
by holding you close, providing the same warmth you give me,
and upon hearing your sweet laugh,
it is like a sweet melody has blessed my earsShall I compare thee to the sun?
bright, warm, comforting,
providing others with joy, happiness,
and I will do my best to protect that light,
for eternity, never-ending,
I will protect and cherish thee.
