An azure sky overhead,
pearl white clouds drifting peacefully,
the amber sun shining brightly,
a light breeze flowing through
A ballroom within a castle is lit,
crimson red curtains hanging in front of a balcony,
white and gold walls glisten,
dark pine floors that contrast the walls.
The ballroom remaining vacant until night falls,
when the moon replaces the sun,
when the stars come out of hiding,
finally able to show themselves twinkling beautifully
When night falls,
the ballroom is filled with people with partners,
dressed in beautiful dresses and suits,
of varying colours and designs
Music starts when everyone has arrived,
a soft melody, yet a joyous one,
the people dance with their partners,
gracefully and elegantly, like a swan
Soon, the music stops as the first dance is done,
people bow to their partners,
before their attention is pulled to a raised platform,
at the front of the ballroom
There stands another couple,
both of them dressed as elegantly and as regally as the other,
they stand, proud, arms linked,
until everyone's attention is on them.
The people bow their heads in respect,
for this couple was the lord and lady of the castle
The lord was dressed in a midnight black suit,
his hair styled and groomed neatly,
he sweeps the room with his eyes,
briefly making eye contact with everyone,
before turning his attention to his beloved.
She was dressed in a midnight black long dress,
one that had lace on the top half,
her long hair cascading down her shoulders and back,
on her neck, a gold heart necklace rests,
one with the initial of her lover,
she too, sweeps the room with her eyes,
before meeting the gaze of her beloved,
the two share a smile,
before they once again look to the crowd.
they take a bow,
and as they raise,
the lord thanks everyone for coming,
and he hopes that everyone was enjoying themselves this far.
His lady chimes in,
as she also thanks everyone for coming,
and, just like her beloved,
hopes that everyone was enjoying themselves.
She then lets the crowd know,
that she and her beloved will dance one dance,
before everyone is free to mingle freely.
The crowd nods in understanding,
once they do,
the lord takes his lady's hand in his,
as he helps her down the steps from the platform,
once she is at the bottom,
he raises her hand to his lips,
giving the back of it a gentle kiss,
while maintaining eye contact,
asking her for a dance.
With a pink blush on her face,
she, of course, agrees,
and as the music starts once again,
the two begin their dance.
The crowd watches in awe,
both men and women never once taking their gaze from the couple,
the two, however, do not notice,
as they focus only on each other.
The lady's dress swirls at her feet,
like water pooling elegantly,
as the lord admires his lady.
During their dance,
the lord whispers how beautiful she was,
causing her blush to darken,
rather than pink, it was now crimson,
like a rose fresh in bloom.
The lady, although flustered,
whispers back to her lord,
complimenting how handsome he looked,
and at the end of their dance,
he places a kiss on her lips
The crowd cheers as the two part,
as the music continues to play,
some choose to dance, others simply choose to talk,
but the lord and lady were busy greeting everyone and talking to them.
At one point during the night,
the lady slips out to the balcony,
needing a break from the people,
even if just for a moment,
she breathes in the crisp night air,
admiring the moon as the moonlight envelops her.
Her lord soon joins her,
worried once he could not see her in the room,
he places an arm around her waist,
and gently kisses the top of her head
she smiles,
facing their lover,
as he asks if she was alright.
She replies that she was,
that she just needed a small break
The lord gives a gentle smile to his lover,
placing a quick kiss on her lips,
as he leans to her ear
and whispers something that makes her flustered,
more than she previously was.
Even so, she expresses how happy she is to have her lover,
and how lucky she was.
He expresses the same words,
and promises her one thing.
He promises, that no matter what,
they will always be together.
In this life, and the next,
he will be hers for eternity,
and she promises him that she will be his for eternity.
