Snapping out of his trance he held the boy close to his chest. Protecting him from anything that could harm him. Holding him securely in one hand he lifted the other and slowly caressed his cheek. He almost gasped at the tingles that ran through him. He stared at the boy in pure adoration. Taehyung was all his.

Grinning like a fool he pressed a wet kiss on his forehead. That's when he noticed his mate's smell was tainted with another smell. He frowned, a very familiar smell.

For the first time in all this he checked the boy and growled when he saw his torn up clothes and bruised up wrists. He was also covered in dirt.

'Kyung Chul! You're going to pay for hurting my baby.'

Jungkook promised as his eyes glowed gold. Lifting the boy in bridal style, he began walking inside the castle.
All the others by now were running towards them. Everyone was worried when they heard Taehyung scream for Jungkook. And now seeing him unconscious in his arms, fear swallowed them. But when they tried to get near them they were sent much further away by Jungkook snarling and growling at them. The newly formed possessiveness took them by surprise.

At that moment one of the sweetest scents found them. Their eyes widened in realization. Gaping at the two for a moment they rushed, making necessary arrangements.

Within minutes Taehyung was laid on his bed, now fully clothed and freshened up, with Jungkook right by his side. He was whimpering even in his unconscious state. The pain he felt was clearly seen on his face. The healer and elder were also called and present in the room, checking up on him. Searching for any damages. Upon finding none they came to one conclusion, Taehyung was going through his very first shift.
"The pain is because he's shifting. Since normally werewolves shift at the age of thirteen. As shifting lags the pain increases. By now his body is of an adult meaning his joints are more fixed and bones are much stronger compared to that of a thirteen year old. Changing now will automatically cause greater pain. Every bone will break and bend. It's only natural for him to go unconscious. You could say it's a kind of defense mechanism, his mind did so that he feels less pain. Don't worry as soon as this is over he'll be just fine and maybe even better." Everyone present in the room nodded at what the elder said.
"I guess the prince here is the boy's mate?" Jungkook nodded. "I would advise you to stay close to him. It might lessen his pain a bit." Jungkook nodded again happily. He was happy that he could help his sweet little mate go through his first shift.
The party and surprises for Jungkook were forgotten. What meaning does all of this have if Taehyung was not there to be part of it. HIs birthday could be celebrated later. If not, there were many birthdays to come. So they focused on the little omega. Waiting for him to wake up.

Almost five hours later slight cracking of bones could be heard. The air surrounding Taehyung shifted and started shaking violently by the shifting. Eventually the cracking sound increased, His body shuddered as he screamed. A loud snap could be heard and his tail bone began to elongate. Fur began to grow on his skin, fingers turned into claws. And then with a loud scream he opened his eyes, bright blue. Now where his human form laid a now pure white wolf. It blinked multiple times to adjust its new vision.
Everyone who had been holding their breaths till now cooed at the small wolf.
Taehyung was confused. Why was everything different? He could see everything much clearer than before.
"Hello baby..." Jungkook whispered near him. Jerking around he saw Jungkook kneeling beside the bed. Wasn't he standing on the bed? Why was he so short? Did he turn into a dwarf?
