46: Gaining Back the Last Piece of Happiness

Days passed...

The number of attacks and killings were increasing. Everything was a mess.
But the castle was safe. So were the royals. Though they tried their best to save others... They too had their limits.
Taehyung was all giddy and bubbly this morning. Ever since he woke up he had this weird feeling. He was happy yet he was worried. And he almost had an idea. And that was making him scared.
And now he had escaped into the forest, but was careful to stay within the barrier. He can't get into trouble. But he also wanted some time alone. To think...
He sat under one of the biggest trees and rested his back against the trunk. His mind was wandering. He was happy... really. But at the present... It was dangerous. It's just like before. And the flashbacks made him shudder. He can't let that happen again.
If things were going to become more messy and problematic, he had made up his mind to have a face off with that monster himself. But now...
He watched as a little squirrel jumped from the tree and settled itself on his lap. It snuggled closer to him when suddenly it's eyes widened and it stared at him.
Taehyung chuckled. The little thing looked so adorable. He nodded at it as it looked at him with awe. It swished it's tail at him and ran up his arm to snuggled against his neck. Taehyung smiled and closed his eyes.
He concentrated at the small beating he could hear. One that was making his heart to swell up and eyes to tear up. His hands felt over his stomach as he let a tear slip/
When he opened his eyes he was determined. He knew no matter what this time he was not going to lose this. He will protect this.
He was having a silent conversation with the little squirrel when he felt panic. It wasn't him. It was Jungkook. He opened the link just enough for Jungkook to know his location and he turned to the squirrel who was now sitting happily in his palms.
"okay... He's coming... What will I do? How will I tell him? Not that I need to tell... He'll realize it sooner or later but... you get what I mean don't you?" The squirrel just looked at him blankly and squeaked. Taehyung sighed and placed the squirrel on the ground. It chirped and ran up the tree.
Soon enough Jungkook was here running all the way. He glared at Taehyung as soon as he saw him. "You left. I was scared. Don't do that. At least tell me before you decide to vanish again."
Taehyung simply gave him a small smile which made Jungkook frown. He sat besides Taehyung and turned towards him.
"Alright. What is it? I know you got something on your mind."
Taehyung bit his lips. Why does Jungkook know him so well... He sighed and let the bond open wide removing all the blocks he had placed on it.
"Tell me Kookie, what do you hear?" He asked instead of answering and looked down.
Jungkook gave a weird look to Taehyung but concentrated. There must be something... And there it was. A third beating along with his and Taehyung's. He froze. His mouth hung open and his eyes opened wide. "Tae... That's... Is it?" He asked very slowly and quietly.
Taehyung gave him a small smile as confirmation. Jungkook bite down on his lips and closed his eyes. He didn't know what to feel. They were blessed once again. He was going to be a father! They were having a baby! A baby... Their baby... His and his baby's baby. He chuckled at the though. He didn't realize the tears flowing down his cheeks. It was only when he felt Taehyung fingers brushing his cheeks did he realize that he was crying.
He opened his eyes to see his baby in a similar state. They were smiling and crying. They didn't have to exchange words. They knew what the other felt. The feeling was just pure...
Jungkook cupped his cheeks and showered kisses all over his face.
"I love you so so so much baby..." He whispered brushing his lips over the other's.
Taehyung grinned widely. "And I love you more than anything else in this entire universe..." He whispered back.
Even though both couldn't control their happiness deep down both were worried.
"What will we do Kookie?" Taehyung brought out his worry. Even though he had already made a promise to himself, he wanted to be reassured. Reassured by Jungkook. He wanted to hear that Jungkook will be there with him. That nothing will go wrong.
And Jungkook knew exactly what he wanted. "We will stay together. Together we will be strong and together we will make sure nothing will go wrong. I'll be there with you... With every step you take, I will be right beside you, always. Nothing will go wrong. That's my promise." Jungkook promised, softly stroking Taehyung's cheek.
That was all Taehyung needed. Jungkook knew exactly what to say. And now he was reassured. He believed nothing will go wrong or they won't let anything go wrong.
Sighing contently he snuggled into Jungkook's chest who scooped him up into his lap and rested him against his chest. His hands circled around Taehyung's waist and rested them on top of his stomach, caressing it every now and then. Cuddling and basking in each other's warmth, they sat there, under the tree for a little longer.

The news brightened up every soul in the castle. And the castle was made even more secure. Nothing should go wrong now... They had to make sure.
And Taehyung... He couldn't turn right or left freely anymore. Jungkook just wouldn't let him. It was irritating him, but he also knew the reason. That's why even though he complains he didn't try to get his way out.
Everything was going fine except for Hoseok and Mariel. Nothing was alright there. No matter what Mariel did, Hoseok always found mistakes. He just couldn't stop comparing her with Marylin. And that was causing a lot of problems between them. And they were drifting more apart.

Away from the secure walls of the castle, they were playing the huge game. They brought destruction everywhere. Their dark aura was almost inhuman. Feeding the evil, they were trying to gain more strength. After all they do for see yet another face off with the royals and of course the elemental.
