3rd pov

Susannah gave Belly a letter about a deb ball at the dinner. Telling her it was a coming out for a girl. For a formal recognition she's reached maturity. A girl that comes of age and is presented to society, out. She told Susannah she would think about it.

After that they began to talk about Jeremiah and Steven's work and what Conrad would be doing this summer instead of going to camp.

While Belly was more focused on thinking about a certain brown haired, blue eyed Fisher boy.

----

It was now dark outside. Blake was outside and smoking a blunt. He had begun to smoke weed, when his father began to pressure him more and more. More so when Conrad quit football.

''you know that's not good for you?'', the voice of Conrad came in sight. Blake sighed. ''well, then you shouldn't have taken me to that party and introduced me to some stoners''.

Conrad laughed amused. ''guess you're right''.

The older Fisher boy sat himself besides his brother. Taking his feet into the pool. Blake handed him the cigarette that was contained with weed.

He took a puff. ''damn B. You took the whole gram or something?'', he asked frowning. ''no, I just took a little bit. Just how you showed me'', he clarified.

''about what Steven said. Dude don't listen to him. He can be a douche sometimes like me''. Blake looked out at the pool. ''maybe but I mean you saw how she responded. She doesn't like me like that. I just have to move on I guess. I mean I can't keep pinning myself over it. I have to stop, it's not healthy. She deserves someone that will give her the world''.

Conrad listened to his brother talking and couldn't help but smile. ''I think she already has one. I mean you're her knight in shining armour, B. You're already giving her the world''.

Blake took the cigarette from Conrad and took a hit. ''she doesn't see me like that Connie. I have to accept it''.

Conrad was about to speak, but didn't get the chance as Belly just stepped outside and went into the pool.

''doing a night I see swim''. Belly looked at the two boys who were sitting on the edge of the pool. ''yeah, night swim'', she replied.

She looked the side of Conrad and saw Blake looking at the sky smoking. She scoffed.

''I thought you said smoking pot changes the way your brain process information'', she remarked.

Blake chuckled. ''actually, that was Connie. I just said it may fuck you up''. ''well, you agreed and you said it messes with white matter''.

''do you even know what white matter is?'', Conrad questioned. ''y-you said our brains are still developing and Blake added with something about the chemistry it sends up...''. She didn't get to finish as Blake scoffed.

''do you like memorize what Conrad says or me?''. Belly rolled her eyes annoyed. ''get over yourself Blake. You were the one that said smoking is dumb and you shouldn't get into it no matter how hard your life gets''.

''well, I say a lot and sometimes it may be the only thing to calm your nerves down. When things get hard'', he snapped at her. ''Blake''. ''Conrad''.

Belly looked at the two in front of her. ''well, I think you both should stop and quit with it. I mean Conrad you even told me yourself that real athletes don't put that shit in their body''.

''I'm not an athlete anymore so'', Conrad defended. ''well, what about Blake then? He is now''.

Blake stopped looking at the sky and took his gaze upon Belly. ''what would you give me if I do quit?'', he asked rather flirtatious. This took Belly off guard. ''n-nothing I think you should quit for yourself'', she tried to sound confident.

''perhaps I will'', he smirked. This made Belly flustered.

Conrad doesn't know why, but he kind of became a little uncomfortable of this so he intervened. ''so, Belly? You considering this debutant thing?''. Belly now took her gaze upon Conrad.

''I don't know. I mean it's not like I have anything else going on'', she told the truth. ''but it's not like you'', Blake revealed. ''he's right. Don't let our mother make you her little doll, just because she never had a daughter of her own'', Conrad finished.

''I don't mind. Sometimes I wish I was her daughter'', the Conklin girl revealed. Conrad huffed. ''you're better off with Laurel, trust me''. ''and I'm better off with weed''.

Belly looked at the two Fisher boys not recognizing them, right now. ''why are you two acting so different?'', she questioned. ''I ain't'', Conrad replied. ''don't know what you're on about Belly''.

Belly looked at Blake. ''I know you. Smoking weed, playing sport, having a popular ex girlfriend. It's not you Blakey. It's not my Blake at least''.

She now looked at Conrad. ''and you. You've been also acting more different'', she pointed at him.

''just please tell me, both of you'', she pleaded the boys. ''Belly''. ''Bell''.

They didn't get to finish as the door opened up.
