Today was the fourth of July. Blake was still in his bed, sleeping peacfully.
His phone began to ring, which made the boy almost fall from his bed when he tried to take it half asleep.
Jeremiah who heard a thud from his room, went inside Blake's without knocking first. He saw Blake's phone on the floor and Blake's head too, while his feet were on the bed.
The youngest Fisher boy couldn't not laugh at this. ''dude, you fell out of the bed''.
Upon hearing Jeremiah's mocking and laughter, the boy groaned.
''Jeremiah get out. I ain't in the mood'', Blake told his brother.
Jeremiah points at him. ''alright. Just next time tho Blakester. Don't fall with your head. It's better to take your feet first on the floor'', he mocked some more before he walked straight out.
The middle Fisher boy scoffed as got himself up. He looked to the phone to see his coach was the one calling him. He dialled the number right away. Eager to know why his coach was calling him during summer.
He picked up the phone almost right away.
''Blake. Hope I didn't wake you up. I got great news for you, that couldn't wait after summer'', he told the boy on the other end.
''hey coach. Good morning to you too'', he said a little bitter. The coach heard. ''alright I understand. I should have maybe texted you first. It is the summer and I know how you kids like to sleep in. However, like I said I got news for you son. So, this scout from another high school came before summer. I don't know if you remember but he was there when you were training and just started''.
The Fisher boy rolled his eyes, not knowing what his coach was referring too. ''so?''.
''so, Blake. He saw you play and he thought you were good, like professional. Even if you haven't played one game yet. He wants you. Isn't that fantastic?''.
Blake's eyes widened. ''are you serious coach?''.
''you think I'm lying to you Fisher?''. Blake clears his throat. ''uh no sir''. ''good. It's a catch tho''. Blake raised his brow. ''what's the catch?''.
He could hear the man sigh. ''it's in Massachusetts. It's Lexington high school. It's a good school. The teachers there can give you more help than the teachers here. You could get into an ivy league or just a regular college next year with more if you rather want that. Tho it's a way better chance to the ivy leagues. Think about it Blake. Don't you want that? it can also start your basketball career. What do you say son? Don't you even have family there that you can live with? I mean in case it's hard for you to pendle every day''.
Hearing it was almost an hour away from his home. He was hesitant, even if it wasn't that long from Boston.
''coach I have to think about this. I mean yeah I have an uncle from my dad's side that lives there, but I have to talk with my mother and see''.
The coach sighed, but understood. ''look I understand Fisher, but this is a big deal. It's an great school. You can focus more about basketball then here. I'm just looking out for you kid. I mean just think about it''.
''I will. Thanks for telling me coach''. ''no problem. See you Fisher''.
The call ended.
''you should think about it''. Blake looked at his door to see his mother was standing there. ''you heard?''. She nods towards her son. ''your phone has the volume high up. I heard it when I was walking past. I didn't mean to overhear''.
