I was on my way out of the house when it happened. When Luke stormed into my apartment, his blue eyes glazed over and a hint of pink covering his face. His mouth frowning and his shoulders were slumped, he closed the door behind him.

"Luke?" I took a step closer to him, and he took a step back. "Are you okay?"

He shook his head, and looked up at the ceiling. Trying to compose himself.

"Then what's wrong?" I reach out to touch his hand to bring him closer. I grab his shoulders and squeeze them tight. His eyes looked down into mine, and I almost forgot what was happening at the moment.

"Luke, talk to me. What's wrong?"

He stepped back, and removed my hands from his shoulders. He pushed passed me and stomped into the hallway leading to my room at the end. I followed quickly after him. He threw open the door to closet, blowing cool air into the room. He grabbed his large duffel bag form the top shelf, and shoved it on the floor, packing his shirts and belongings into the bag.

"Luke.." I reached out to grab the strap of the bag, holding it as tightly as I could. "What are you doing? What's wrong?" I pulled the strap harder so it was at my feet, instead in front of him. I wrapped my arms tightly around it, and sat on the bed hugging the bag to my chest.

Luke grabbed at the strap that was hanging by my legs, trying to get the bag from me. I just pulled back.

"Baby, tell me what's wrong. Tell me what I did," the tears were at the very peek of mt eyes, blurring Luke's face a bit. I knelled beside him on the floor. "Tell me what I did, baby," I sniffed unhooking an arm from around the bag and wiped my nose with the back of my hand. "Please."

Luke's gripped loosened from the strap slight. He took his other hand and dragged it down his face, taking a deep breath in. His gaze fell on the floor, then back up at me.

"That night, when we hooked up at Michael's house, did... did you do it because you genuinely liked me, or was it because you knew Calum would hear it all in the living room?"

My heart physically stopped for a moment. My breath hitched in your throat, and my eye lids closed halfway, almost looking dazed. Yes, I did have a crush on Calum before I feel in love with Luke, but that was over a year ago. I'm happy with Luke, so happy.

"Luke... Luke, who told you this?" I said, scooting closer to him.

"It doesn't matter you told me!" He stood up, ripping the bag from my hands turning to leave.

I could hear your own heart beat in my ears. Everything was moving to fast. I reached up as fast as could, pulling the bottom of Luke's shirt hauling myself up that way.

"You don't know what your saying Luke," the tears were flowing freely now. "Baby, sit down, please," my grip was so tight on the back of his shirt. His breath was jagged, and his fist were clenched at his sides.

He breathed deep, then slowly turned around to face me. His eyes became a dark grey colour, and his face was a tint of pink. He looked over my face, and I slowly let go of his shirt of his shirt. He nodded, then sank down onto the edge of my bed. I brought the wheelie chair from my desk across my bed and placed it right in front of Luke. I sat down and pulled the chair up so our knees were touching. I looked up at Luke's face then my eyes traveled down his neck, over his chest, to his tummy, then down to his hands on his laps. I took them into my hands and kissed each of his knuckles.

He softened at that scooting a little be closer.

"Are you gonna tell me now?" he whispered. Everything was becoming more calm.

I breathed out, and looked back up at his face.

"Okay..." I set his lands from my lips down onto my lap, holding them close to my stomach. "I want you to listen to everything I have too say... Please don't be mad, or upset with me."

Luke's hands pulled away from mine at that, interlocking his own fingers and placing them on his lap. He nodded urging me to continue. He was rocking back and forth on the bed ever so slightly, trying to relax a little.

"Okay.. I'm just going to be honest with you, Luke." I let out a breath. "Yes, before I fell in love with you I did have a slight crush on Calum... But it was stupid and meaningless." I looked up at look only to see small tears forming in his eyes, and it felt like your heart just ripped out looking at him all sad and vulnerable. "And when we slept together... yes it was to get Calum to notice me but-"

"What?" Luke whispered so brokenly, and sad. It hurt, it really fucking hurt.

"Luke, you have to understand-"

"Understand what? He slapped his hands against the bed, pushing your chair back with his foot. "That you used me to get my best friends attention?"

"Luke, don't be like this."

"No, I'm going to be like this." He got up from the bed, and walked over to his forgotten duffel bag. "Was the past year all a lie?" He started rapidly packing his things into the bag.

"Luke, listen to me-"

"What about when we had that midnight dance party in the kitchen and you finally said you loved me? Was that to make Calum jealous?"

I got up speedily from your spot and rushed over to him, placing my hands on his arms to stop him.

"Luke..." He turned around so quickly, and stared so deep into my eyes.

"Or that time I had a nervous breakdown last week at a show and you gave me a long speech about how much I meant to you? Was that so Calum could hear how sweet you are?" The tears were running freely down his face, his eyes turned a dark grey colour I rarely ever see.

"Luke, none of that matters now, I'm in love with you." I poked hard at his chest. "You're the one I love, the one I always will love."

"Yeah? Well it doesn't seem like it." He turned quickly on his heels and picked up the duffel bag heading toward the door. I hurried after. "I need some space for a while." He said, his back turned to me. "I don't want you to follow me."

"Luke..." The tears were welling up so much in my eyes I could barely see. "Please don't do this," I grabbed his hand, but he didn't turn around, nor did he fight back. "None for that matters now, none of it. I love you, I will always love you, no matter what. It was so long ago baby, please. Don't leave me."

Luke slowly turned, "I just need some space. OK?" His face didn't soften.

"'Will you come back?" I cracked.

Luke simply just slipped on his shoes, and headed out the door.
