Chapter 3: New job

When the family finished eating, they thanked each other, got up and left the dining room. Shagotte and Cana cleared the table, Sayaka took away the tablecloth, "um... Shi... Shin... ah, Shinoa, would you like to help me wipe the table and chairs?" Asked Sayaka. "Sure." She confirmed. The two demonesses cleaned the table and the chairs and put everything back in order. Said Saphyra and went with the girls to the kitchen, there they picked up their food and went to the staff room. "Thanks for watching Yukino." Saphyra thanked her. Yukino nodded and went back to work. "After the break, we'll go see Cassandra at the station. She'll ask you some questions like pre-existing conditions, ailments and do some routine checks. When she's through with all of them you'll have the interview with His Royal Highness." Said Saphyra. "It wasn't in the job description that we would be examined by a doctor." The four demonesses finished their break. Saphyra went with the six applicants to Cassandra in the hospital wing while the other three went back to their work. "Hello Saphyra, are these the applicants?" Asked a nurse. "Hi Zeref, yes they are." Confirmed Saphyra, "good, Cassandra had to leave quickly, family emergency, but Hondo and I will take over the examinations." He explained, "may I have the application forms please?" "Of course, here." Saphyra handed Zeref the six application forms, he opened one. "Miss Valerie Hartley, I'll start with you, please follow me into the room." He asked Valerie, Valerie followed him. Zeref, first asked her to the scale, took some blood from her and handed it to Hondo and last but not least he measured her blood pressure. He put the results in a file with the application documents. Then he did the same with the other five girls.

Just as he finished Cassandra came in the door. "Excuse me." She apologized. "It's all right Cassandra, Zeref has done the examination, you just have to ask the questions." Hondo reassured her. Cassandra nodded took the files and asked a few routine questions to the girls one by one, after that she still looked at the blood value and wrote it down in the file for Lucifer understanding. She handed the files to Saphyra, "All are in good health." She informed her. "Thank you for your effort." Thanked Saphyra and went with the girls to the 1st floor in the small salon. "Please take a seat. I'll bring Lucifer the papers and then he will hold the talk with you individually." Saphyra said and left.

Lucifer conducted the interview with her. "Good thanks, you can go back to the others." He thanked. "Saphyra, next please bring me Tayla Hamilton." Saphyra went back with Satine and brought Tayla to Lucifer. When he had gone through the interview with everyone, he conferred with Saphyra. Saphyra and Shinoa turned around, "Itona. Gladly, if you would please accompany Shinoa." Itona nodded and left the castle with Shinoa. "Where do you live?" Asked Itona. Shinoa averted her eyes, "By the cliffs..." "By the cliffs? You're kidding." Said Itona incredulously. Shinoa just shook his head and walked with Itona to the cliffs, after a steep climb they stood in front of the cave. Shinoa went inside and packed her few belongings, into a box, Itona looked around the cliff. "How long have you lived here?" Asked Itona. "Since I was 7 years old." Answered Shinoa. "Excuse me?" Asked Itona.

"Would you please leave it, I don't like to talk about it." Asked Shinoa to her. "Yes of course, please excuse me." Accepted Itona. Shinoa came back out with her full box and walked back with Itona.

Outside the castle gates, Draven came to meet them. "Oh no..." sighed Itona. The two girls bowed. Draven smiled in love "Itona, my pretty one, how you look again, were you just waiting for me...?" Itona ignored the prince's saying, she rose, pulled Shinoa with her and went back to the castle with her. "What was that about?" Shinoa asked, confused. "The usual comment from the prince when he sees me and wants me to go out with him." Came Itona.

Itona accompanied Shinoa to the door of her new room. "If you ever need someone to talk to you can always come to me, my room is three doors down on the right." Said Itona before she left. Shinoa went into her room and closed the door behind her. She put her few clothes in the closet, underwear and socks in the comode, books on the shelf and the empty box under the bed.
