When the effects of the drug began to wear off, Zeref went to Lucifer to tell him. Hondo went to Shinoa's room but found no one there. "Uhm... Cassandra...?" He began. "Yes, what is it?" Asked Cassandra, "Shinoa's gone..." Replied Hondo. At the same moment Lucifer entered the room, "Excuse me? You can't even look after a patient?" Asked Lucifer slightly annoyed. Hondo tried to apologise "I'm sorry your highness... she climbed out of the window." "Out of the...? Itona!" cried Lucifer. Itona came rushing to the infirmary "you called, your highness?" "Take some people and find Shinoa." Ordered the king. "Your Highness, Sugino will have to do that. We have just received word that an out-of-control demon is rampaging through the city." Explained Itona, "The Yellow-Eyed again?" Lucifer asked. Itona confirmed this with a nod of her head.
Lucifer growled "I'll take care of that, this time I'll destroy him. Itona, you will accompany me and let Sugino know." "Destroy him? But your highness, he is still a citizen of your city." Itona tried to convince the king. "A citizen who has raged once too often. So what now?" Ordered Lucifer. "By your command, your highness," Itona confirmed her order. Itona gave Sugino the order to search for Shinoa with a few men and then went with Lucifer to the marketplace where the demon was rampaging.
"Over there." Itona said, pointing at the out-of-control demon bent over a man, squeezing his throat. "A woman?" Lucifer asked confused "the demon that lost control many times is a woman?" Itona shrugged innocently "didn't I ever mention that?" "It doesn't change my decision." Replied Lucifer, now turning his attention to the demoness. "Let him go right now!" Lucifer commanded. The demoness looked angrily at Lucifer. Itona looked more closely at the man being pinned to the ground by the demoness "Highness, that man under the demoness... that's the one who attacked Shinoa's friend." Itona recalled. "I saw it." Gave the king in reply, his gaze still fixed on the demoness. "What is it? I won't say it again."
The demoness let go of the man, straightened up and pressed her foot on his chest so that he could not run away. "You will now accompany us without resistance." The king ordered. The demoness laughed "Any other wishes? The guy took an innocent life and I'll take his." "You will do nothing, he will be taken away and put in a cell." Said Lucifer. "Then he sits in a cell and is released after a few years and then someone dies again? No, he shall die!" Growled the demoness. "How nice, then we already agree, only it's not this guy who gets wiped out, it's you." Lucifer enlightened her. The demoness grinned cheekily "An eye for an eye" with those words she kicked the man's head away with her foot as if it were a simple football, blood gushing from his neck. The crowd of demons gathered around what had happened cried out and ran wildly. The demoness took advantage of the chaos and fled towards the forest. Itona gave chase without hesitation. "Itona, stop!" shouted Lucifer after her, but she no longer heard him.
In the forest in the clearing, Itona lost the trail, cautiously walking forward with her sword drawn, when suddenly she heard a noise behind her. She turned quickly and swung the sword along with her. Lucifer intercepted her attack with his bare hand. "Your Highness... please forgive me." Itona apologised and put the sword away. "Where is he?" Asked Lucifer "her. I lost her." Said Itona ashamed, "he can't be far." said Lucifer. "Her" Itona corrected him, Lucifer looked at her angrily "what are you teacher or general of the Royal Guard?" Itona changed the subject "I wonder how the Yellow-Eyed knew the man and knew he had killed someone." Lucifer nodded "I've wondered the same thing."
The two walked further into the forest and after a while heard sobbing and whimpering, Itona stopped and raised her hand but Lucifer just kept walking. "Highness. You can't just keep walking when I stop. Otherwise I can't look after you." Complained Itona, "it's just someone crying. And super chaperone you are Itona, you just ran after the demoness." Lucifer teased her, "she would have ended up otherwise." Itona defended herself. "But she did." Lucifer returned. Itona blushed with shame.
The sobbing grew louder, soon they were standing in front of the spring "but this is..." began Itona "Shinoa. What are you doing here?" Lucifer spoke between them, Shinoa looked up, when she saw them she wiped away her tears. Itona walked closer to her "it's dangerous to be alone here, the Yellow-Eyed is up to no good out here." "Did she come by here?" Lucifer asked directly, Shinoa shaking her head "no one came by here." Lucifer stood in front of her "then I guess she's gone. Do you know who the Yellow-Eyed is?" "no, I don't." She lied. "Why?" "The Yellow-Eyed knew that the man with the snake tattoo killed Miss Kirara Kenway and just now cut off his head." Told Itona, "serves him right, he took my friend." Said Shinoa coldly.
"How dare you climb out of the window and run away?" Lucifer asked indignantly, "the window was the only exit where no one stopped me." She lied again, she couldn't tell him that she had turned into the Yellow-Eyed in anger, jumped out of the window and killed the man. Lucifer sighed "let's go back." "You can go, I want to be alone." Said Shinoa "you can't handle grief alone." Said Itona, "alright Itona, we'll go." Said Lucifer, pulling Itona with him.
After a few metres he stopped and looked back, "Go ahead and let them know we've found Shinoa. I'll stay here and keep an eye on her." Lucifer ordered, "but your highness..." Itona wanted to complain, but he interrupted her with a mighty word, "that's an order!" Itona bowed "as you command your highness." Itona rose again and left, Lucifer leaned against a tree and kept an eye on Shinoa. After about half an hour, what felt to Lucifer more like several hours, Shinoa returned, when she saw him she stopped. "Do you want to go for a drink?" He asked, "better not." Shinoa declined. Lucifer insisted though "I'm not talking about the Moonlight Bar or any other 0815 bar that everyone comes into. I'm talking about the one for nobles." "You mean the Jade Club? The bar you can't get into without status?" Shinoa asked, Lucifer nodded "only the royal family and high nobility are allowed in." Lucifer grinned, "Interested?"
