A few weeks had passed and things had begun to settle down. Rain had to missed school because he was still healing from what had happened and to Sky's surprise, he did fit in rather well with Prapai's family. They had welcomed both Rain and Sky into their family. It was easy for Sky to see were Prapai got his personality.
Prapai's family is very loud and chaotic. They always speak their minds and have zero filter, especially Prapai's Uncle Tankhun, who has taken Sky and Rain under his wing. He's always demanding they watch his favorite shows with him and dragging them around to the best places in the city.
Though Prapai's family constantly pushes Sky out of his comfort zone, he doesn't mind it. He can see how much they care about each other and despite their craziness, they're always there for each other. Just like Prapai is always there for him.
Unexpectedly, Mr. Kim had shown an interest in Sky. He cornered Sky one day and said, "If you're going to keep hanging around my nephew and putting his life at risk, the least you could do is learn to control yourself." And that is how Sky found himself in training.
Mr. Kim had chosen a few guards to help Sky train. They were all surprised at what Sky could do, but they quickly came up with a training schedule for him. At first, he was just practicing his power, until he saw the guards train and he realized he wanted to learn that as well. Sky didn't want to become a bodyguard, but he wanted to learn how to protect himself without relying on his "other self".
That, however, was going better than him learning to control his powers. Sky picked up the physical training rather quickly, but controlling fire was a bit harder to do. He could do simple things, like light a candle or catch something on fire like a bowl or a plant, but using his powers to defend himself was something Sky felt was impossible.
"Again." Kim said.
"I can't. I can't use my power to harm someone, or even this stupid dummy." Sky said before he kicked the side of the practice dummy.
Kim and Sky were in the training room and Kim was trying to get Sky to attack a rubber life sized dummy. Though Sky was having trouble. Just the thought of harming someone or killing them, hurt too much for Sky to think about.
"So you're just going to keep blacking out? I thought you wanted to protect yourself." Kim asked.
"That's why I'm doing the other training, so I don't have to rely on this." Sky said while gesturing to the dummy.
"You're not the only one out there with these abilities. What if you need to protect yourself and you can't get close enough for close-hand combat?"
"Well, then maybe you should teach me how to use that gun you're always carrying around." Sky replied.
Kim sighed. "This is getting us nowhere."
"Well, if working with these dummies isn't helping, perhaps we need a better target. Shall I go see if Prapai is here?" Kim said before he started to walk away.
Sky grabbed onto Kim's arm to stop him.
"Are you crazy?! What if I accidentally hit him or burned him alive? What is wrong with you?" Sky frantically asked.
"Sky. SKY! Calm down and let me go. You're hurting me." Kim said calmly.
Sky let go of Kim's arm and saw he had burned his handprint into Kim's arm. The smell of burning flesh began to fill the air as pieces of Kim's burnt shirt fell to the ground.
"OH MY GOD! I'm so sorry. Are you okay? Let me get the first-ade kit." Sky rushed to leave the room when Kim called him back.
"Sky, it's fine. I've had worse."
