I can still remember when it all started. Though, it all happened years ago, it seems like just yesterday when my life changed forever.
My mother had died giving birth to me, though my family never held that against me. My father was always working on something or another, so my brothers, particularly my eldest brother, Tankhun, raised me.
My brothers were always there for me, but as we grew older, my second oldest brother, Kinn, started to drift away. Kinn started to chase after our father and do his biding. Kinn was doing whatever he could to gain our father's approval. Which he did by becoming the best at everything. The best in school, the best in firearm training, etc.
Oh, did I forget to mention, we are The Theerapanyakuls. We make our money and base our careers in legal (and mostly illegal) jobs. I suppose some would call us The Mafia. I've always known what my family did. Growing up being surrounded by bodyguards and sometimes watching my father come home dripping in blood that wasn't his, lead me to believe we weren't exactly a normal family.
Which leads me to the incident. Years ago, when I was around eleven years old and my brother, Kinn, was seventeen, we had decided to go out on a trip. I loved music. In fact, I even wanted to try my luck in the music industry. My birthday was coming up, so Kinn wanted to treat me to a day out, going to different parades and festivals. Which was very rare. Kinn was always busy with father, so I was excited to spend some time with him. Unfortunately, Father had made a few people quite mad, so he declared that we were all on house arrest until the "problem" was solved. All of us expect Tankhun. He was to be next in line to be the head of our family, so father wanted Tankhun to join him and father wanted to teach Tankhun how to get rid of unnecessary "problems".
Hours had gone by and the night had returned to daytime, yet no one was to be seen. Father had said that this would only take a couple of hours, yet time had passed and no one has come back. The day had turned to night again when finally they had returned. Father was injured, he had gotten shot through his shoulder. A couple of bodyguards were pretty beat up as well, but someone was missing.
"Where's Tankhun?" I asked my father as he was being seen to by the doctor in our clinic that resided in our house.
"Not now Kim." Father said before ordering a nearby guard to take me back to my room.
"NO! Where's my brother?! He should've been with you!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I was dragged out of the clinic, just as Kinn walked pasted me into the room.
The guard dropped me on the bed in my room before leaving and locking the door behind him. He locked the door from the outside so that I couldn't escape, or so he thought.
I climbed out of my window and scaled the side of the wall until I got to the roof. I made my over to where the clinic was located and slowly climbed down to the ground underneath the window that looked into the clinic. I glanced in and saw Kinn sitting on a stool beside father, who was on a hospital bed. No one else was in the room.
"So, what happened? Where's Tankhun?" Kinn asked.
"That damn fool! Everything was going fine until Augustine wanted to try and blackmail me. Me?! Of all people. As if I would fall for such a thing. Unfortunately, I may have underestimated him. He and his men started firing first, though our men responded quickly. I was hit and your brother decided to try and save me. I told him to get rid of Augustine first, but he wouldn't listen. He dragged me outside while the rest of our men stayed to fight. We were ambushed and we got separated."
"So you really did leave him?" Kinn asked with a surprised tone in his voice
"No, I didn't leave him. I just came back to regroup with our men."
