chapter 27

I was sleeping quite peacefully when someone started singing and playing the guitar outside. I took my noise-cancelling headphones from the bedside and covered my ears with them.

" Here I am " he started singing that song out loud. nope, nope nope nope. I'm sleeping. I closed my eyes but the voice kept getting louder and louder with every word he sang.

I groaned, my headphones weren't enough to block the noise. I stretched my arms, legs and back. I then sat up, listening to the song makes me want to urgh. I cracked my fingers, getting up and throwing on a hoodie over my oversized outfit. then I put on my glasses and put my hair in a low bun before walking out.

when I popped my head out and saw phanbin, looking just as confused and probably also wanting to find out where's the noise coming from.

he then flopped towards the noise source, which was just outside the lift. "what's this?" he asked then saw the production crew and flopped towards me, then back to them. he was actually flopping, no walking like a penguin.

then I noticed that it was Kim Jaehwan. phanbin came back as I slowly dragged my feet towards the noise. "uhm hello" I said rubbing my eyes.

"It's a bit too early," I told them my voice gave away just how sleepy I was, and they just laughed, I guess it was not 'too early' for them... then he finally stopped, "What's your name," he asked me and phanbin. "park hanbin," he said shaking the older guys hand.

"jiaqi" I said shaking his hand. "I guess the rooms are soundproof," he said, no they're not. I heard him loud and clearly. soundproof is not what they are, I wish they were though.

then he decided to wake everyone up. I slide down the wall at the lift area, leaning my head against the wall. his singing becoming distant, slowly it became like white noise. "okay, I'll just rest my eyes... for.. awhil-"

◇ phanbin pov

"jiaqi go and brush you-" I called walking out of the toilet, realising jiaqi wasn't outside the lift I stopped talking. oh, I was so embarrassed, my hair was a mess when Kim Jaehwan Sunbaenim was here. ahh.

"jiaqi??" I called, aish this girl where did she go? I walked to the lift area, the staff laughed as I spun around finding that Chinese girl.

"why?" I asked them, and then Hoetaek and Gyuvin came out and chuckled. "do I look funny?" I asked the staff and they pointed behind me.

I turned and saw the girl I was looking for, she was hugging her knee, leaning against the wall and sleeping. I laughed. "cute," gyuvin said and we agreed.

I decided to sit beside her while the others went to wash up and Sunbaenim continued to wake the others.

" finally " Sunbaenim said coming out of all the rooms looking not very energetic. he looked drained if anything, he smiled seeing that he woke everyone and felt proud of himself. then his eyes dropped to the girl leaning against the wall sleeping ever so peacefully.

his eyes immediately widened 10 times. "sunbaenim, let us get ready and we'll wake her up" Zhanghao said holding his towel with one hand.

sunbaenim chuckled and nodded.

then Keita came, "anyone seen jiaqi?". exactly, see so I'm not dumb for not spotting this girl earlier. I cleared my throat loudly and Keita turned his attention to me then the girl beside me and smiled.

"Help me take a rubberband from her wrist," he said, so I lifted her hands and while I was removing a rubber band her eyes started to flutter open.

"what" she asked softly, if I was 1cm further I wouldn't have heard her. I removed the rubber band and passed it to Keita. "thanks" he said going to wash up.

the girl beside me took off her glasses and put it on my lap before rubbing her eyes. I'm honestly worried that her eyelid will get scratched, especially with how rough she's rubbing her eyes.

she let out a yawn, sitting straight and adjusting to reality. then stood up wobbling like a drunk idiot, I held her glasses up for her. She took it thanking me with a nod then hand sign to me that she was going to wash up.

her hand sign wasn't the best, hopefully, she doesn't do it in public or someone would think she's throwing gang signs.

"she went to wash up?" taerae asked and I nodded patting the now empty spot beside me, asking him to sit and he did.

◇ jiaqi's pov

now we're all gathered in a semi-circle around Sunbaenim. this time I took a glance at the boys and burst out laughing. their hair is a mess.

Then Sunbaenim suddenly said that we're going to sing "Here I Am" together, what.. it's 7.40 am, and we're going to sing ..!??!?! uhm

okay. right, makes total sense. he started playing the beat and we started singing, even though its impromptu we still did amazing.

gunwook was hugging me, arms around my neck, his head placed behind mine. "I want to sleep" he mumbled and I replied same.

" let's have breakfast together to get to know each other " he said, "we'll meet at the studio at 815". then he dismissed us and everyone dispersed.

"change into your planet world tt-shirt!" he shouted after everyone dispersed a few "yes" could be heard. I went to my room and took out my tt-shirt and pants then went to the toilet to change.

I then brushed my finger through my hair before putting it up in a low bun.

we're having samgyetang, I opened the lid and my eyes opened the widest it has ever been since I woke up. "oh my gosh" I said.

After breakfast we entered a familiar room one by one. "yeah deja vu" I told Ricky, it was once filled with trainees and now there were just three steps.

"We saw the signal song test for the first time here," I told Keita and he went "ahhh yeaaa"

this is where everything started, and where it'll end. wow. I'm getting goosebumps with that thought.

then star master showed us the two songs we'd get to choose to perform. jelly pop and hot summer. "hot summer, the vibe. I like it" I said.

on the ground was the mission and the parts distribution. everyone groaned upon seeing it. same bro same.

I got sub vocal 2 in hot summer. Guess what, keita is in hot summer too!? like WHAT. "yeah keita hyung!" I called dabbing him up. we are a team man !!
