Haebin licked the ice cream in her hand. The taste that refreshed her throat made her smile as she enjoyed the cool spring breeze.
"I guess I'm now less important than an ice cream, huh?" Sehun's voice was heard, complaining.
The girl pretended not to hear him as she swung her legs. They were currently on the rooftop of an old building. It was an eight-story building that somehow became a place where they ended their dates.
Just like that day, they both left the house early in the morning and tried everything they had never done before. Only when the sun started to set, they came to the rooftop.
Five months had passed since they fell in love and each of them began to accept that things would not be the same as when they were friends.
Of course, they fought a lot with each other because of some misunderstandings, but a few days later, they resolved them together.
"Babe," Haebin immediately turned to Sehun when she heard him calling. He was also swinging his long legs at the edge of the rooftop.
"You think we'll survive?" The question was sudden, making the girl look at her boyfriend with a frown.
Sehun was staring at the sunset in front of him.
"Why are you asking that?" Haebin asked back. She licked on her ice cream, waiting for a reply.
"I'm just afraid of losing you. That's all." Sehun told her what was on his mind, his gaze now focused on the girl.
"Hun-ah, no one will lose anyone. Even if I'm not physically in front of you," Haebin's left hand landed on the boy's chest.
"I'm still here. And you," She brought her hand to herself. "will always be here." She said with a smile, hoping to reduce her boyfriend's discomfort.
"Promise?" One word that came out of his mouth made her smile widely.
"Promise." She replied with certainty in her voice.
A comfortable silence fell as they enjoyed the beautiful view presented by the twilight sky that was slowly changing colors.
"Beautiful," Haebin said with a small smile.
"Right? Beautiful." Sehun repeated her word, but shortly after that, Haebin noticed that his eyes were not looking at the sky but were fixed on her face instead.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" The girl tried her best to control her feelings as she started to feel the butterflies in her stomach. She licked on her ice cream to calm her nerves down.
"Because I can't believe it. I can't believe that someone as beautiful as you is with me right now." Haebin's face started to turn red. Sehun's words made her heart beat faster.
Since the day they got together, there was not a single day went by without a sweet word from Sehun for her. Every day, there would always be at least one sentence that made her melt like ice in the middle of the desert.
"Still, you have to believe it because I am right in front of you now." Haebin turned to face him with confidence but she didn't expect his face to be so close to her.
Now, there's only an inch between their faces.
Haebin swallowed the lump in her throat. She could taste the vanilla ice cream as she nervously licked the inside of her cheek.
Being this close to Sehun made her feel crazy.
His crescent eyes that were staring at her, the small scar on his cheek that became a part of his identity, his nose that almost touched hers, and his pink lips that seemed to call out for a kiss. Everything about him screamed perfection.
Haebin blinked several times as Sehun closed the gap between them. The closer he got, the faster her heart beat.
The mint smell that was now her favourite started to fill in her senses as the distance between them became dangerously close.
One, Haebin took in his scent.
Two, Sehun pushed away the ice cream in her hand.
"May I?" His whisper was barely heard as he asked for her consent.
Haebin nodded her head and three, their lips crashed.
"I love you, Kim Haebin." He sweetly said between the kisses.
Unconsciously, a smile appeared on Haebin's lips.
The kiss felt so right and she definitely knew why. The reason was that the one she was kissing right now was undeniably the perfect man for her.
Although he wasn't her first, she was sure he would be her last.
Oh Sehun, the man that she can't unlove.
THE END.
