Why?

Chris POV

I hadn't spoken with Dani in a week and I knew how pissed she was. I felt so bad because I couldn't tell her the truth. The truth is Cameron is just a contract, I was approached by her team to pretend to be with her for a little while so her name could get out there and she could have more opportunities. I of course wasn't thrilled about the idea but my team somehow convinced me it was a good idea. I hated lying to everyone but I was told if I did tell anyone then her team would sue me.

I know Scott knows something isn't right but I can't tell him and now I feel like everyone hates me. I've tried calling Dani multiple times, left her messages and texts but nothing.
"Chris?"
I look up and see Scott standing there, I know he wants to talk.
"Can we talk?" He asks and looks over to Cameron standing in the doorway. "In private?"
I nod and smile at Cameron, kissing her cheek before following Scott out of the room.

"What is going on?" He asks when we reach outside.
"What do you mean?"
"Come on Chris, I'm your brother okay I know you and something is going on"
"Scott..."
"No. You wouldn't tell all of Dani's secrets to some stranger so what's going on?"
"I can't Scott"
"What do you mean you can't?"
Before I can answer I hear Cameron calling me "Chrissy!"
Oh god do I hate that name.

"I gotta go Scott"
"Seriously?"
I walk away and leave him angry and annoyed. I wish I could tell him the truth but there just isn't a way around it.

Scott POV

I have to figure this out because he is definitely not okay. I decide to go to Dani after the talk with Chris, I know she is mad at him but I have a feeling she will want to help him. As I walk up to her door, I hear music. I knock and walk inside, I hear a soft strum of a guitar and as I walk into the living room I see Dani sitting down, she is lightly singing and she sounds amazing.
"Hey"
She whips around jumping out of her skin "god! Scott you scared me"
"Sorry. You sound amazing"
She chuckles "thanks. Gracie always said so too"

I smile "why haven't I heard you before?"
"Don't really like to sing in public"
"Well you should"
She places the guitar down and walks into the kitchen "want a drink?"
"Coffee please"
She busies her self making out drinks as I sit down at her breakfast counter.
"What's up Scott?"
"Hmmmm"
"Come on I know you, you wouldn't just show up unless something was wrong so come on"
"It's Chris"

"If you're here to get me to..."
"No. I'm not but Dani I think he's in trouble"
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know. It's hard to explain but he isn't acting like himself and he seems on edge all the time. Not to mention she is literally glued to him, like she is keeping an eye on him. Something isn't right Dani and I need your help to figure it out"
"Scott..."
"No okay, he would have told me if he was dating someone. This woman has come out of nowhere and I need to know why"

She sighs "fine I'll help you"
"Thank you"
"But it doesn't mean I forgive him Scott"
"I know. Maybe there's an explanation to why he told her"
"Maybe"
She hands me my coffee and we sit down and discuss what could possibly be going on. Because I know my brother and that man who came back is not him.
