Molly was a pain in the ass to get to sleep. She wanted Jonathan to put her to sleep, not me. Then I decided to put on a film and let her have a late snack, but that wasn't good enough because her dad didn't make it. It's like all of a sudden she only wants Jonathan and that hurts me. It hurts me because after everything that I have done for her when Jonathan hasn't even been bothered about her, she only wants him. After finally getting her to bed I got changed into my pyjamas and just curled up in bed. I've never felt this low before, I actually cried myself to sleep. It was really selfish of me, Jonathan was her dad but still. I woke up in the morning and saw Patrick sat on the bed next to me with my hand in his.

"Morning sleeping beauty." He joked making me smile slightly.

"How long have you been here?" I asked as I sat up.

"I came back last night, saw that you've been crying and decided to stay. So, what happened?" He asked. I shrugged and got up before walking into Molly's room.

"Molly, wake up." I spoke making her groan. "Molly come on."

"Where's daddy?" She asked making me sigh. "Mommy, I want daddy." I walked out and straight downstairs. I got my phone and rang Jonathan. Patrick ran downstairs after me and just stared at me.

"Hey Amber." Jonathan greeted, a hint of a hangover in his voice.

"Come and take her, please Jonathan." I cried down the phone. Patrick looked extremely confused. "Seriously Jonathan. Just please, come and take her."

"Why? Amber what's happened?" Jonathan spoke frantically down the phone.

"I cannot cope. She won't listen to me, she won't talk properly to me, she hates me. I don't even care if Sara is over, just please." I cried again. I never thought that I would be crying down the phone asking Jonathan to take Molly. He told me that he would be on his way to pick her up. Patrick took care of Molly and I just sat in the living room. I literally couldn't cope. I didn't want to see how happy Molly was when she saw Jonathan. The door knocked so Patrick went to sort it all out. I couldn't help but feel abandoned. I hated this. After hearing the door shut, Patrick walked into the living room and just lent against the doorframe.

"Want to tell me what happened?" He asked. I nodded and he sat down next to me.

"She hates me Pat. She won't listen to me and constantly asks for Jonathan."

"Ok, so i believe that there are two reasons why that's happened. One, she's 3, she doesn't know any better. And two, Jonathan hasn't been in her life, having a dad is all new to her and she's just probably trying to make up for lost time. You really do have to remember that she doesn't hate you, far from it actually. She didn't want to leave with Jonathan, she just wanted to see him. All of her friends will have two parents. In retrospect, she had 4. That can't be easy for her. She probably sees all of her friend's parents together and her mom and dad aren't together. It has to be hard for her. She'll grow out of that stage and realise that having separated parents can sometimes be better." I pulled him into a hug and kissed his cheek. Patrick is literally my rock and I never want to let him go. "So, you promised that we could celebrate today. I was thinking of going out to a nice restaurant and then going for a long walk so you can clear your mind." I nodded and got up to get changed. I decided to put on a white and pink dress, white heels and just having a small amount of make up on to go with my curly hair. I walked downstairs and saw that Patrick had gotten changed into a smart shirt and smart trousers. I smiled at him and we decided to go out straight away. He took my hand and I couldn't help but smile.

"Are we taking the car?" I asked.

"I was thinking that we could just walk. The restaurant isn't that far away." I nodded and we started to walk. "I've only just realised that you're really short." Patrick told me which made me laugh.

"Oh yeah? Thanks for informing me." I replied with a laugh. "Just because I'm shorter than you."

"Yeah, and I'm short. Mud you're wearing high shoes and you're still shorter than me." I had to laugh more at that because it was true.

"Well, hopefully Molly will take after Jonathan then." I said which made him laugh. The best thing about mine and Patrick's relationship is that we are always laughing. There was never a dull moment in our relationship. I looked up at Patrick and saw him looking straight ahead but with a giant grin plastered on his face. "I love you Patrick."

"I love you too Amber." I smiled again and he kissed the top of my head. "I told Jonathan to bring Molly back tomorrow around midday. I've bought loads of baking stuff for her and you to do tomorrow. Everything will be alright." He pulled me into a hug and kissed my head once again.

"Right. Let's go and celebrate!"
